Would cowl mounted floods make good brush lights?

In the interest of getting this thread somewhat back on track...
Picture with the Roadshock Edge 6 light output. The ditch lights are also on and aimed at almost 45 degrees out and down a little.
I currently have the Roadshocks installed on top of my bumper hoop, but I want to mount them under it. For that, though I'll need to make a pair of brackets and get some longer stainless mounting hardware. Overall can't complain about this setup. Although, oddly, when the lights are off, I am getting static in my ham radio. Turn them on and the static instantly goes away. Very weird.

I finally had a chance to mount the roadshocks under the hoop a few weeks ago. But I had been using the amber lenses as covers. So for most of my driving I could still run them with lenses on and I didn't have to get out and take the (included) black covers off. Yea I'm lazy.

However, on a particularly cold day this past weekend, in a couple feet of snow I tried taking the lenses off thinking that white light would help me navigate better in the snow, after dark. But the lenses where super brittle in the cold and I snapped one of the retaining tabs off.

Tried to go through harbor freight customer service to buy a replacement. In fact I asked if I could buy three of them since I want to have some spares. I figure I will eventually break another one or two on a low hanging branch or, more likely, by "driving" into a snow bank with buried objects. Harbor Freight customer service informed me that there are no spare parts available. But like in years past when I tried to get parts for a different product, they informed me that they are working on a spare parts supply. However they have been "working" on that for years and still have nothing in place. They said I could exchange the entire lamp for a new one at any one of their stores if I am still within the 90 day warranty period. Which I am not, and I wouldn't feel right doing that anyway, since it was my fault and not a manufacturing defect.

So, while I love the light output of these lights. And I think they are worth the money considering the cost of LP6s. I cannot recommend them to anyone until Harbor Freight gets their act together with replacement parts.

Here's a pic of one on top vs one under the hoop. I definitely feel like they are more protected under. And, even more important, I don't see them while driving anymore. And that was the main goal since when they were on top of the hoop and turned on, especially with the amber lenses on, I got some light shining back at me.

that's one of the frustrating things about harbor freight; the manual shows a parts list, but they don't deal in parts and want the whole damn thing back but only if within warranty.
