Where did your Jeep take You this Week?

Being that we have friends (and kids) visiting, we kinda had to take both rigs out, which is pretty rare. Anyway, we played tourist yesterday and went for a short hike in the national park at Thurston lava tube in the morning. Funny story… as I was loading up, I set my coffee down on the bumper of the JT.. made it about 5 miles up the highway, over speed bumps and sharp turns before we pulled over and got it. Hats off to EVO and their amazing suspension.
After the hike, we went down to the beach until the weather went to shit.
After a shower and a nap, we went kidless to a couple bars and had a great time… no pics of the drinks but I had a few old fashions with burning chair.

Woke up this morning and felt the Need to get out and unwind... Got some local range & dirt time. I dont think I’ve ever hit a trail completely alone before... it was kinda relaxing.

Awesome! I wish we could get ammo around here to spend on a range. It’s been pretty rough trying to find anything for the past year or so. Glad you got out and kicked up some dust and powder.

The prices are extremely high though... There was a time when I would go once a week... 1000 rds of 9mm was $150... now iits 500 rds for $300. It sucks.

Last week we poked around the Alabama Hills. Wish we had more time but still had a great time driving and hiking for a day along one of the main roads through the area.

It came down something fierce shortly there after. The next day while hiking Whitney we watched a Chinook rescue a guy that got stuck in the storm and was hyperthermic waiting on rescue.

I wish I took video or a few pictures of this. I was about half way up the switchbacks watching all this go down. We had walked past those people an hour or two prior to this and they did not look good.

people that don't go prepared.... my daughter thinks I overpack but it only took once to get stuck at higher elevation and needed the food, water, blankets, coats and gloves I had "overpacked"
she learned how it can go from a beautiful 80* day to mid 30's stormy and cold within hours and just so happened on that night there was also a minor mud slide blocking the road out.
we ended up with some extra passengers in the Jeep who were out day hiking and not prepared.
it was only a 5 hour inconvenience but under those conditions it mattered
