Sucks about the snapped shaft, time for an upgrade!Rubicon, did a few of the obstacles I avoided on the previous trips. Almost got through soup bowl, but ended up in a bad spot with the driveshaft hitting and had to pull line. Busted a front axle shaft being stupid and drove out in 2x4 for most of the way occasionally locking in the three wheel drive.

someday I’ll get out there to run that trail!
Looks like you had a pretty cool trip aside from the broken shaft. Shitty, but it happened in a cool place.

Nice! That looks like a blast! I’ve reserved a backcountry campsite in Big Bend for Labor Day weekend (Fri-Mon). I’m open to have some people join if you want. Going to hit Old Ore, Black Gap and maybe a part of River Road that runs along the Rio Grande.Took a trip through the Texas Hill Country with a couple buddies this weekend. Had lunch in the Llano river.
Such a great setupLake Sakakawea (reservoir off the Missouri river) for some kayaking and beach side picnic. Awning came in clutch, it got up to 105. Who woulda thought in ND

Congrats Jerry. Did you trade in the Durango?
Still have the Durango Andy. It's still going but at 275k miles, It only gets driven locally. Trade in value was $500. Probably just keep it as a spare and let my kids drive it if they need to use it until it finally dies. I can;t believe it's still going strong. Ya, I kinda claimed the JL after a while. Lol, she gave up on it after I lifted it and threw 37's on it last Summer.
