I was literally just coming here to ask about this. I have my new baofeng and need to program it. Once programmed, is there a way to confirm it’s good to go?

Fair jab. This pic is back when I finished building the whisky bar. Some weren’t even opened then yet. Some are less full now, but I still try to moderate and have a little restraint. I mostly try to have a buying problem and not a drinking problem. Lol.

Am not a commo expert but I am pretty sure that GMRS and FRS are in a different frequency range and cannot talk to Race Radios.

Neither am I, hence the reason I ask. “Race radios” aren’t actually a thing the FCC regulates and provides frequencies for; I THINK it’s just a branding thing. Regardless, GMRS, FRS, CB, hell, I wish it were easier to get people on the same architecture. Paying for CB then FRS then GMRS is like these companies just messing with us. Like owning these Jeeps aren’t expensive enough.

I'm also still trying to determine if I bring one Jeep or two.

Lol, it’s not illegal. It’s illegal if you are using ham frequencies without being licensed but not if you’re using gmrs and frs freqs.

Yep, they don’t give a shit unless you are harassing people, repeatedly, and are turned in repeatedly. Even then, you’d have to be doing that on some ham repeater for someone to turn you in.
