My wife grew up in the Canal Zone…her dad was a canal pilot, then later became the Harbor Master. Her friend that she grew up with is scattering her mom’s ashes in Gatun Lake …

Dad was stationed down there then. I got to transit the canal on a Naval ship when one of the fleets was coming through
