VIDEO : RockJock HD High Steer Kit Installation

Hey Eddie, before you go flex test it, double check that tie rod installation. It should be oriented slightly downward to help with the clearance for the pitman arm joint. Happened to a friend of mine who installed it. As added verification, I reached out to Rock Jock this morning. See response below.

"Hi,
You should rotate it slightly downward, it is to help pitman arm clearance. We kind of put ours slightly at an angle, split the difference between flat and fully down.
Thanks, "

Huh - I just looked again and see that in the install pics, the bend in the tie rod is in fact pointing down but saw no mention of it in the instructions. I have to say I'm a little disappointed to have missed this detail as I would have made sure to include it.

Safe to assume you were having issues before changing things?
Yes, I ended taking the kit off. Then I saw a picture of the kit installed and the tie rod bend was down. Reinstalled the kit properly, and it's been great for over a year.

You could add more bump to not hit, but that wasn't an option to me.

And the steering stabilizer... The only one I found to fit is the Metalcloak.

FYI, the bend in the tie rod in front of the diff faces down, not out. With it facing out it can cause clearance issues with the tie rod and the pitman arm joint. Ask me how I know!

I spoke to Rock Jock about this and they were supposed to update their instructions to mention this.

Welcome... 760 huh? Where you from? Del Mar here.

I see a lot of posts about unboxing but Nothing about how it changed on road characteristics similar to other installs . Video showed leaving garage and entering after test ride nothing in between. I know it does effect it and really thought it would of been mentioned . It effects the steering as much as geometry brackets do which is worth mentioning

LOL - ummm, I guess I missed it if there was a question here. Of course, if you were just trying to flex your internet expertise, good for you 🏆

How? If track bar and drag link are parallel, there shouldn't be anything noticeably different felt.
