Top or recessed winch?

Intense engineering there. You should build a totem pole fact graph for that shit right there.

So I began some of the work on a recessed mount. After taking some measurements and discovering my homemade bumper might be a very tight fit, I decided to cut away the top section of the bumper (off the Jeep of course).

I am very concerned the Zeon will not fit between the back of the front bumper plate and the grill. The very front plate of my bumper is flush with the end of the frame rails. It looks like most aftermarket bumpers with recessed winch mounts are built out and away from the frame rails some. At least that's what it looks like.

First things first though, to truly measure and know for sure, I need to get the vac pump moved. I'll take suggestions. I see some come with extra wiring. It looks like some, like RH4x4, just rotate the pump. The ones that rotate it concern me that it will still be in my way.

I realize because of my one off bumper no one can likely give me 100% suggestions. But, thanks again in advance! [emoji106]

There are a few kits that relocate the vac pump up near the master cylinder/break booster area. I would go that route to be sure it's outta the way completely. Just google "jeep JK vacuum pump relocation". I used the bracket that just turns it sideways. It worked for me, but only because I knew it would ahead of when I did it. Thanks for those pics. Yeah that's definitely going to still be in the way with my setup.

Anyone with the EVO vac pump relocation...can you confirm that the pump is moved behind the sway bar? That's what it looks like in some pics I've found.

This is correct. I didn't get the vacuum pump relocation bracket this time, I just zip tied it under the hood! LoL!

Thanks. I'd really rather not have to re-route vacuum lines and wires but definitely need to space.

EVO kit ordered...

I got to see the EVO relocation bracket in person yesterday. uberc4 has a very sweet JKUR and has this bracket. It will definitely work for my purpose.

On my Jeepster, the frame rails are too narrow (not to mention options are basically ZERO) for recessed winch mounts. I used to run a Smittybilt recessed bumper on my '13, but then decided on the PSC for my '14. It's a top-mount, but the center mount section sits about 3/4" lower than the sides...I really like the look, and it doesn't take away the look of the front of the Jeep. In my opinion, the top mount on this particular bumper looks cleaner than a recessed mount.

Not to mention no relocations needed!
