TIN CAMP - This is the Last One...

Awesome pics of a beautiful area! Glad you guys had a fantastic time! Was wondering where you guys went off to but didn’t want to be creepy. Lol

I’d either train Ripley to leave them. Or I’d kill them and just introduce feral cats.

That bottle looks familiar. 😉

beautiful place!
I'd keep the snake ...... as a belt or hat band

Beautiful photos. I would 100% kill that snake. Other predators and hopefully non-venomous snakes will replace it.

As far as the rodents, if you're going to be spending some decent time up there, I'll be happy to share my pellet gun setup specs. Not crazy expensive and quiet. I pop those little fuckers a lot.
The rodent problem is legit. The mice, I can and have been dealing with using bucket traps. The chipmunks are on another level freaky. I literally stood there in front of the screen door with one sitting inches away from me and essentially asking, are you gonna let me in or what? They just aren't scared of shit. The night before we left, 4 of the fuckers ran into the cabin. 2 of them, I got with a trap - the same trap too! It was a twofer with one of their heads exploding and the other was broken but still alive. The other 2, I just couldn't get rid of so I set up more traps and we left. I've got the place pretty sealed up so I'm pretty sure I'll have some clean up to do when we get back.

That said, I am planning to bring my pellet gun(s) out but yeah, if you have some suggestions as to how I can better use them, I'm all ears.

Would love to come visit during this time of the year there. So beautiful! I could totally live there.
Would love to have you come out and stay with us. Obviously, you could even have your own cabin all to yourselves :)
Man, such a beautiful place. Great shots! And Happy belated Mother's Day to Cindy!
Cindy says thanks!

LOL - it is really weird being totally disconnected and even though we could have brought out our Starlink, we purposefully chose not to. After a couple of days, it gets really easy to not miss it or at least, for me anyway.

I don't think Ripley would just charge in and get tangled up with a rattle snake but I could see how she would inadvertently get bit while hunting critters. May need to just nix the snakes.

If you're already good enough with what you've got, it's all good. Most of mine are 25-30 yards out and when I upgraded my scope and added a bipod, kill ratio went way up. They don't run off at all anymore. 18x zoom scope and a bipod steadies it so much more. I can hit a half inch circle every time. It was a lot more challenging with my stock scope.

LOL - well shit, that's a lot nicer than my 40 year old Crossman with iron sights :ROFLMAO:

Make, model and accessories list would be much appreciated. I may need to just copy what you have there (y)

Was really hoping to see some elk out on this trip but they seem to only want to wander in when we're not there. If you look at the time stamp on this video, you'll see that we headed in to town for dinner at about 5pm and then Elk showed up at about 7pm.

The other cams we have got clips of others as well but they were gone by the time we got back. The other days we were there, they never came by but then, we were outside a lot doing stuff and until dark. :(

The story of my hunting life.

Gamo Swarm Whisper 22 (green band on stock is the hunt model).
Seems like Walmart may be only place that still has the same one:

Ammo: https://www.amazon.com/Gamo-632270454-Fire-Pellets-Caliber/dp/B01APG0YG8

BSA Optics Rifle Scope 4.5-18x44mm (I found one on Ebay, a lot are on backorder) (I used the scope rings that came with the rifle, they fit on this scope). Doesn't have to be this exact scope, but 18x zoom is awesome.

Bi pod GEN-2 Side Mounted Bi-Pod/Rail Kit for Breakbarrels/Underlevers Air Rifles (only bipod i could really find for this gun, easy install):

https://airgundetectives.com/product/gen-2-side-mounted-bi-pod-kit/

I think entire build was $350.00.

Awesome! I really do appreciate the information (y) (y)

I would allow the snake to live and relocate it a bit if necessary. For every one you see there may be 100 more that you don't. The small ones are perhaps more dangerous since they are less easy to see, and more likely to strike. Teach the dog about snakes.

In Arizona, we relocate scorpions that we find in the house to outside if we can. One that kept trying to sting my foot as we were trying to leave was not so lucky. I squished him because he would not obey.

Awesome! I think I'll be ordering one of them too :ROFLMAO:

Otherwise, it looks like the rifle is available at my local Walmart, the bi-pod and ammo are both easy enough to get as well but I am having a hard time finding the same scope you have. There are other options available though and I may just have to get one of them.

Again, thanks for the info - definitely gonna need to get this thing going (y)

Maybe get the gun first and measure to make sure the scope isn't too long. I think I got that scope on ebay. If scope doesn't fit though, you can always get taller scope rings.
