Thinking of doing a run on the rubicon - August 19th

I'm in still.

Are we caravanning or anything? I'm coming up from the Orange County/Los Angles area. I can either drive just my jeep or pull my jeep with a trailer up there.

If you want to caravan I'm leaving Sunday from the SFV. Haven't really set a time yet but I'm thinking a little before noon. What are you thinking?

Anytime is good with me. Let's just plan to caravan and work out the details once the date gets closer. I'm for sure going.

Anyone else bringing kids? We are bringing our 3 year old. He has done multi days backpacking so he is no stranger to camping or jeeping.

Most of you are coming from the other direction, but if you need to drop doors or whatever I'm about an hour from south shore. 👍

I hate to do/say this.....but I'm going to have to give up my spot on the trip. I thought I would have my lift in on time but its not gonna work out. I'm having a ton of rubbing and afraid I'll do too much damage and jack up my tires. Have fun guys! :drinks: :grayno:

:grayno:   We understand

Just to confirm, I think we need to get fire permits, even for a gas stove at the Ranger station as well as wag bags for this trail. Any hotel recommendation for Sun night? Getting excited.

Yeah, I was just looking at the fire restrictions yesterday. It said we will need a permit and even then fires can only be started in a campground area. Permits are free, and available from any ranger or station. I believe they have spill kits as well.

I am driving up Sunday and need a hotel too. Never been there, so I don't have a recommendation but if you get a room can you PM me where you're staying?

I'll take a look at hotels over the weekend and let you know.

Bummer, maybe next time.

Spill kits ordered. ARB fridge arrives tomorrow, toilet/wag bag kit this week. Have the other requirements and a couple snatch blocks. Prob booking a room at the Super 8 or something else cheap for doors/top and night before we start. Like $50 night. Officially excited. I can bring a spare rear drive shaft if needed as it won't fit my set up anymore. Let me know.
