Thinking of doing a run on the rubicon - August 19th

Wish I could go i never been to Rubicon before think I'm gonna wait till I get my bigger tires and a winch don't want to be dragging on everything

If you haven't discussed this already. Make sure you carry fluids. Diff oil, motor oil, tranny oil and coolant. Oh and RTV. You just never know what you might need.

One very important thing. Check your rear stock diff cover.
Make sure the cover lip doesn't hang below the diff. A rock will get ahold of it and peak it open. Happened to me. Sucked.

Short version. Not at first. Then after a few months started squeaking. Re-tourqed and it calmed down. I cut the windshield brackets and wielded them on to help with the windshield vibration. After I put them on it went totally quite. It's now stiff as hell.

I see a lot of guys welding the factory windshield brackets on the PS cage because of the windshield vibration. This cage is on my short list, so I thought I would ask. Cage looks great! Have a safe and fun trip on the Con:rock:
 
Sucks i couldn't get the time off work to go with you guys. Hope you guys have a ton of fun and no big mishaps along the way. On a positive note, ripped out my tranny today to replace the clutch, replaced my oil pan gasket while i had it out, and fixed my little leak from the rear pinion seal, I'll be ready for the next trip.
 
T-6 Days

Just a heads up. there is a wildfire in the area of the Rubicon trail, It looks like it will be contained but we will have to keep an eye out for it.
there is a chance we may have to postpone this.

I saw on the news last night that they are only able to fight the fire by air due to how remote the location of the fire is. Hope the trip goes well, and stay safe. If it gets postponed to....say 5 years from now, I'm sure my coilovers will be installed by then. If so can I reclaim my #2 spot on the list :doh:
