The slow building of NoRdNdd

Rotated tires today and changed the oil. Fixing to order some more stuff too I guess. The wife keeps saying we need a shade, which I agree just haven't ordered one yet. She's making me order one today. Guess that's a good thing when the wife makes you order jeep parts.

Got the shade put on yesterday evening and went for a drive.

I also got in the EVO trans skid plate, still needs installed. Got the large ARB bag in for my straps. Also ordered the ARB tire repair kit. Got the Daystar tire isolators, need to get them installed soon before the tailgate starts cracking. Was hoping to get the EVO tire carrier and corners but running out of time before vacation and saving money for vacation.

1 year.JPG

Tomorrow will be one year since purchasing NoRdNdd, so I took the same pic last night as I took on day one. Doesnt seem like much has changed in this year but actually looking at this picture and setting back and thinking, a lot has changed. Interested to see what the next year brings. :2thumbsup:

Nothing new. Just played in the ditch off my road last night.

Leave for Colorado a week from tomorrow. Can't freakin wait. Need the time off work and the vacation in the jeep.

Won't cause boredom with the hundreds of pics taken from our trip but here are a few...

Stopped and ate at The Big Texan. Neat place, but have had better steaks elsewhere. Still say if you get the chance stop and check it out.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1437838679.746723.jpg

Stopped for lunch on the way. Thought it was a neat pic with the jeeps and the mountains in the background.

Rode the train from Durango to Silverton. It was neat.

Ate at Grumpys.

Ate at the True Grit Cafe in Ridgway. Pretty neat place.

Last night there we went to Bar D Chuckwagon and ate.

We had fun. Was a first time trip for the wife and I. Can't wait to go back. The trails weren't too bad, seen a lot of stock vehicles on them. Even full size rigs which made for tricky passing at times. Had lots of fun though and seen some great views. Pics don't do it justice.

Hoping to do some more challenging stuff on our next trip.

Well, been busy this weekend. My nephew brought his 97 Tahoe up and we put a new transmission in it.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1438605330.843845.jpg

And this is why we put a new transmission in it. It was leaking just a little bit. Lol.

Saturday night we had our local car show called Old Time Saturday Night. There is not an entry fee for vehicles or for people to come and walk around. So they don't do trophies or awards or anything. It's more of a deal just to come and hang out. There's usually a band and several street vendors set up. Most of the stores in the area were open where usually they aren't at that time of the day. I didn't get hardly any pics this year. But I took these....

Of course I got the jeep naked and took it down.

Took the last two just cause, these are some crawlers built by some guys I know. Both seem to do great for what the guys do with them. And while I want to build something like them and I'm workin on something, I still enjoy the crap out of my 2014 and glad I own it.

Great thread

Just read through your build thread. Must say, you have a great looking JEEP. I have a 13 JKUR white like yours. Saving up the money to lift and tires soon. Wanted to give you a wave from Corpus Christi, Texas. Great Colorado pics also!!!! Here is a few of mine.

Thanks! Its definitely changed and grew some over this last year of ownership. Cant wait for it to continue growing. Yours is looking good, I'm a little biased to the white also! LOL.

Not jeep related but we got the hay meadow east of my parents cut and baled. Got off work from a 12 hour day yesterday, set on the tractor another 4 hours haulin hay. Just glad it wasn't square bales, too old and fat for that shit now.

My parents now own this place. It use to belong to my grandparents. It was only fitting that we hauled hay yesterday as yesterday was the 14 year anniversary since my grandad died. That old stubborn bastard gave himself a heart attack 7-4-01 and fought it until 8-5-01. That old man worked his ass off his whole life. If I become half the man he was, I'll be doin some good.

I truly enjoy the fact that my parents bought the place he use to own. I get to spend so many hours on this place remembering all of the good and bad times here.

And while his shop no longer stands, the pad under my jeep in the picture above is the same pad his shop set on. Every time we came over here and ever since I could walk, I would get out of the vehicle and head to the shop to see him. Sometimes I feel like he is there turning wrenches with me and all I can do is tear up and laugh.

R.I.P Grandad. Your truly missed.
