Glad you guys are okay
Glad you guys are okay
Holy hell dude!! Glad that you’re okay and that it didn’t get any worse.Need to make some updates here but while I have a min I had an interesting day. Alex and I took off yesterday for a small adventure, had a great time, cold, but on the way home my Front Driveshaft went real fast and caught fire lol. Fortunately was able to realize the driveline vibration on the rough road and when I pulled over and got out the CV end was in flames, probably a matter of time but I think some water, freezing temps, and then high speed finished it off. Also fortunate I was able to get my fire extinguisher, that been riding around with for years, quickly and no other damage occurred. Naturally I had all the tools except my t50 socket for some reason, so I got to take it all apart and had to remove the Trans crossmember in order to get the t50 Allen wrench I had in there. Was back up and running in about 2 hours. Running 2wd right now and got Jeremy already on getting me a proper 1350. Sucked but could have been way worse. Trying to upload more pics but won’t let me at the moment
Shit!
Glad you guys are okay
Wow! That’s crazy, glad you guys are ok.
Thanks guys, def could have gotten bad but fortunately everything worked out and we were able to get moving again. That’s insane! I’m glad that it wasn't as bad as it could’ve been!
thanks, fortunately no other damage and we were goodHoly hell dude!! Glad that you’re okay and that it didn’t get any worse.
Thanks man, and without a doubt, been on my list as I’ve assumed it would wear out, but not as fast and as bad as it did, but no time like the present I guess lol.Glad it wasn’t worse!! Good reminder to catty a fire extinguisher. Will get that new shaft headed your way asap. Having the lift you have and stock shaft, it was bound to happen.
Thanks man, Yea especially being we’re about 50 miles from civilization either way, but made it workGlad you had no real permanent damage. Still sucks
the CV joint? what are the JL CV joints made of?? holy shit, that could have ended badly, glad you all are good.Need to make some updates here but while I have a min I had an interesting day. Same as JK’s. Once the boot rips, grease flings out and it eventually implodes or in his case, gets very hot.the CV joint? what are the JL CV joints made of?? holy shit, that could have ended badly, glad you all are good.
Was something leaking on it?
Nothing leaking, just like Jeremy said, I think it was just the grease that was burning and whatever else is inside of itthe CV joint? what are the JL CV joints made of?? holy shit, that could have ended badly, glad you all are good.
Was something leaking on it?
