Thanks guys, def could have gotten bad but fortunately everything worked out and we were able to get moving again.

Thanks man, and without a doubt, been on my list as I’ve assumed it would wear out, but not as fast and as bad as it did, but no time like the present I guess lol.
 
Also, just an aside, your kinda dead in the water with a 392 if you lose your front driveshaft, I was able to force 2wd with my tazer but without FAD the driveshaft still spins, so not much you can do other than removal, so if you’re lifted and have a factory shaft, carry the right tools (or double check you packed your socket t50 lol)

the CV joint? what are the JL CV joints made of?? holy shit, that could have ended badly, glad you all are good.

Was something leaking on it?

Nothing leaking, just like Jeremy said, I think it was just the grease that was burning and whatever else is inside of it
 
Glad to hear you guys are OK and it didn't get worse. I missed the part where you got the 392 so I had to go back and catch up....haha. Good looking rig for sure. I'm wondering who's had more jeeps at this point, you or Dale...haha
