EXPLORING THE MOJAVE DESERT
One of the first trips we went on with our all new Sony Cybershot F707, was out to a part of the Mojave Desert that Cindy and I loved (unfortunately, it is no longer open to vehicular traffic) and because of it's unique and colorful rock formations. And, as luck would have it, we had a few of our wheeling friends join us including Dave and Karen in their gen 1 Nissan Pathfinder, Matt in his Isuzu Vehicross and Vince and his family in his 4-banger TJ.
Here we are after hopping off the pavement and airing down.
Wiggling our way through a narrow canyon in this beautiful mountain range.
Making a stop to check things out on foot.
Time to go higher up.
Back at our rigs and time for some lunch.
With the sun getting lower in the sky and shadows starting to creep in, it was time to move on.
It's hard to imagine now but just a couple of decades ago, ranchers still ran cattle out here.
Some of you will recognize where we're at in these pics.
Time to get our feet wet.
And of course, the final water crossing before we came to the end of the trail.
Unfortunately, Memory Sticks weren't cheap back then and so I had to limit the amount of pics I could take. Needless to say, that's all the pics I have for this trip but I hope you enjoyed the few I posted up and the slightly higher quality of them
