I’ve been super hit or miss getting on here lately with work and family things, but I did manage to get the jeep put back together. When I pulled it apart I did find cracking in the edges of the clutch plate ,the throw out bearing was bad and a little blueing on the pressure plate,. I’m trying to figure out why this thing is going through those bearings. Anyways it’s together. Drives nice, no more ticking or vibrations.

Almost forgot the Jeep and I just had an anniversary. 4-12-16. It’s come a long way in 7 years.

Started loading for our trip this coming weekend. Or at least getting everything to the trailer. Most of it’s still covered in dust from hammers.

Had a great trip out in the calico mountain range. Great trail running and light wheeling with a bunch of mines to explore.
Down side is I’m pulling my hair out with this clutch noise. Less the 1500 miles with the start of the same sound.

After airing up. Got on the freeway and all of a sudden it sounded like something was slapping the bottom of the jeep. Pulled over and found the clip that holds the transfer case shift cable, had fallen out. So a few zip ties and a couple burns was back on the road.

I noticed a big improvement. Now that I have them more turned in, I love them. It soaks up the bumps better trail running and big flex out in the rocks. One of the trails last weekend outside of Barstow, I didn’t air down and running on washboard. It felt much better to me then my old suspension.

I started building a tiny replica of the Jeep. Still need some of the small detail items, but it’s coming along nicely.

I have tiny king coilovers for the 1/10 scale. Might be a little bit before I put shock hoops inside the full size

Heading down to Johnson Valley tomorrow then over to apple Valley for a couple days.

Man! I’ve been inactive and boring the last few months. I’ve only been wheeling twice since hammers last year. Doing some mods to the off road trailer before hammers this year. Other than that the ending of the year wasn’t too bad. Done a bunch of fishing, mountain biking and got in to racing ultra 4 RCs (seeing how I’ll likely never afford the real thing). Looking forward to may of this year, as I’ll be able to stop going to a 9-5 every day and spend time doing things that bring more enjoyment!!

Got some new rubber for the pretend Jeep. Trying out the Nitto nomad grapplers. Definitely digging the look of them. Gonna give them some good testing soon. Once I’m back from hammers, we’re going to Yosemite three weekends in a row for fire falls.

Good luck and hopefully the weather cooperates with you in Yosemite. We went last year to catch the firefall. Definitely worth it.

We missed getting reservations in time last year, so this year booked three to be sure .. in 2022 the falls didn’t have any water. Hopefully we’ll have water and clear weather.

Putting the rain fly on. There may a small chance of rain in the desert. I rather have it on then trying to put it on in the rain.

Got back from hammers last night. What a good time this year. Jeep rolled 70000 just before I got home. It was awesome seeing Mel hit the finish line, in race of kings.

Was in Yosemite last weekend for fire falls. It didn’t pan out Saturday for us unfortunately. That’s alright. We had a great time and we’re heading back tomorrow.
