The build of my flag ship Black Pearl

Little after work project. Used the old swaybar links from the JK, to make new ones for the pretend Jeep. Since I’ve lifted it I haven’t liked the links that came with it. The were noisy and constantly came loose.

Added another 1/4” of preload to the rear. Glad I did the trailer is sitting nice now. Plus I noticed on the last two trips fully loaded with gear, it sat a touch lower then I wanted.
We’re all packed up… just need to make it through the work day tomorrow.

Great trip up to the lost coast this weekend. Cool weather, lots of relaxing and a little hiking. Just what I needed!

Did a couple upgrades to the RC crawler today. Found the tire size I wanted that fit my beadlocks. Also got brass steering knuckles for a little more weight out front. The bigger tires definitely unlocked some more potential in this thing.

I need to get out in the Jeep but I keep wheeling these tiny 4X4s… got this one today, because my other one isn’t legal in a up coming comp. Also ditching the stock body have a 65 C10 body coming for it.

A friend of mine had a business idea of building custom RC Crawlers to match people's real-life rigs. Like you send in photos of your rig and he would build a mini scale version down to the accessories, paint color, decals, etc. I haven't built a crawler since the Axle AX10s came out but if I did it again I would love to build a hard body version of my jeep.

Also, this may be an old trick but we used to put stick on wheel weights around the inside of our wheels. It helped smooth everything out so it wasn't so jerky and twitchy and the extra weight and lower center of gravity helped a lot too.

I’ve seen those type of builds and thought about doing that for my Jeep. Might still later on.
I run brass steering knuckles in place of the wheel weights now, but that’s what I did when I first got it.
