The Adventures of Fiona - '08 JK Rubicon 2-Door

Got home too late to start working on her, but the new ball joints arrived. Came in a nice case that will probably end up being a pistol case whenever I get around to purchasing another one. 😎

I was correct in my assumption that the Skyjackers are rebranded Rare Parts with a red collar...

Way to take one for the team! :thumb:
😂😂 Glad to be of service! 😜

That said, I got them installed today. Swapped out the drag link and tie rod with the Currie system while I was at it. Still need to get the steering box replaced... Hopefully tomorrow. Ran out of light, so I've only got one photo... More to come tomorrow.

Got to try out the new steering components on the trail today. I'm happy to report that everything performed flawlessly! The steering is nice and tight, not flighty on the highway or while braking. The new Currie tie rod took a couple good hits. It's scraped up, but still straight as an arrow. The job was a total pain in the ass, guy I'm really happy with how everything turned out.

New Jerry cans arrived today. With the CA laws it took me forever to find a company that sold real Jerry cans for a reasonable price and would ship them to California. Amazon wouldn't even allow shipment of the cans that are CARB approved. 😠

Now I can get rid of the HB cans I've been carrying with the stupid CA-approved nozzle!

Does your Atlas bumper swing smoothly? Mine seems to "step" down as I swing it shut.

Yes, swings very smoothly. It's been awhile since I installed it, but I remember having issues getting the cam system installed properly... Mostly because the tire carrier is heavy as shit and I was installing it by myself. Once I got it installed and adjusted the cam properly I've had no issues.

Well, got the new exhaust installed. Overall, I'm pleased with the outcome of the Dynomax system... Everything fit perfectly. The muffler hangs down a little past the skid plates, however, so I'm sure we'll be doing a little self-clearancing. 😎

On the downside, they decided to run the tip of the tailpipe out under the bumper. Right where I can flatten the stupid thing. I believe I'll be taking the good ol sawzall and cutting it flush.

As far as sound goes, it's not as obnoxious as a 4-banger rice burner, but it leans that direction. Damn I miss a V8. 😬

Bottom line, I'd recommend this Dynomax kit for anyone that wants to get rid of the stupid factory trash can hanging off the ass of our Jeeps. 👍

Looks good. Big difference.
Thanks. The before photos actually looked better than real life. The driver's side decals appeared to have "burnt in" to the paint so there was a black shadow on the upper third of the first 3 or 4 letters.

I had to try and line up the new decal over the shadow to cover it up. I ended up being about an eighth of an inch off to the right, but you can't tell unless you're up close, so I'm happy with it. 👍
