Lol. Thanks. I'm looking for something more mobile since it seems like I always end up wiring lights in a parking lot. ;)

Edit: plus it doubles as a fire starter.
 
^^ Well, maybe some cleanup projects are in order.

Not sure in what form yet, but I will be showing my Jeep some love for Xmas.

Sounds good. I have all those spools of wire still. No plans for me, but I can always be convinced. ;)

Time to start doing some "lab" tests of the goal zero with the ARB fridge.

My ARB was not pre-cooled. Looks like it's pulling about 74 watts with the compressor running full bore to cool the fridge down. Once it's gets to a cool temp, I'll unplug the goal zero from the wall and see how long it keeps the fridge running.

At the target temp, the ARB compressor shut off and the draw is now minimal. Once the goal zero is charged back up I will unplug from the wall and see how long it runs the ARB on its own battery.

So, in my non-scientific test, the goal zero still had 60% left after 17 hours of running the ARB at about 34*f. That's not bad at all. Granted, the ARB was inside and there was nothing in it.

It seems to me that I could easily make it through a sunny weekend with some solar panels hooked up to the goal zero...and it shouldn't take much to have a system that runs indefinitely.

Edit: the other thing I learned is that the goal zero's 12 volt outlet will NOT run the ARB; the ARB must be hooked up to the 110 outlet.
 
is your ARB temp accurate? does it shut off at your setting?
the one I received appears to be 10deg off, I set it at 37F the ARB doesn't kick off until it reaches 27, I set it to 41 and it kicks off at 31.
I need to get an internal thermometer to see what the actual temp is.
