Saying Good Bye to Wilma - Lost her in a house fire on 6/20

Glad you and everyone are ok. From your pictures, I'm shocked, but glad the rest of the house has been virtually untouched. You were speaking about another rig to "replace" Wilma. Start a GoFundMe and share it on here, and your local Jeep clubs. I'm sure I speak for the rest of us, but we'd love to help out as best as we can. Us Jeep pals will always stick together no matter what. :friends::usa:

My wife and I laughed at the GoFundMe, not lie you are like the 5th person to tell us we should have one... I don't know...

But thanks everyone for the thoughts a prayers...

They come to take her tomorrow, I took the day off so I can see her go... :sigh:

No you don't speak for the rest of us. You speak for yourself. If you can afford a new jeep you can pay for your own shit. Don't be a low life.

While I will do whatever I can to help out my buddy Donnie throughout this situation, I have to agree with Overlander on this one. GoFundMe represents way too many shitty people. I'll go about supporting him and his family in another way.

Wow what a way to take care of a fellow Jeeper that lost a lot. Doing or having a GoFundMe doesn't make you a low life. It's an actual way to help someone in need. Just because you apparently have had a bad experience with it doesn't mean that the rest of the people that use it are "low life's".

Yes there are some people on there that take advantage of the website, but that's why you do you research and see if they are legitimately in need. If he started a GoFundMe for his Jeep you mean to tell me you wouldn't help him out of you could?

Not through GoFundMe. I'd handle it another way.

And Donnie, sorry for muddling up your thread about the catastrophe that is currently Wilma. Hopefully everything will be over soon and we can start the next build brother!

Isn't that what insurance is for? I hope his Jeep is covered.

You are what's wrong with America.

You are what's wrong with America.

If you say so. You are entitled to your wrong opinion. If I see someone in need I help them out no matter what their race, gender, or religion. So if helping is what's wrong with this country then there are some serious issues with this country. If you truly believe with what you said. You need to have a serious look in the mirror.

Go fund me pages don't go over very well here.

I just used GoFundMe as a suggestion. There are tons of sites to help raise money.

My point is that I wouldn't go to a site to do it. If I'm going to give my money to him or anyone, in a helping matter, I'd give it in a way that allows them to receive 100% of the money, unlike using GoFundMe.

Maybe if he needed help keeping a roof over his family's head for a little bit, but starting a gofundme or any other kind of charity just to get a jeep again? Negative. I'm sure he'll figure out his priorities on his own.

Oh understand, I was just using it as a suggestion. I use PayPal which gives you 100% if used as a gift.

Isn't there something called insurance to handle this?

Yes insurance will cover a percentage. It's all depends on their coverage levels. Insurance rarely covers 100% unless you pay a substantial amount in premiums. My husband is an insurance agent.
