Rebuilt of a Billet Silver mall crawler

Got few little odds and ends done yesterday. First, I got around into installing JKS spring retainers.
IMG_5296.jpg
Had to tape the nut and the washer to a wrench and feed it through that little opening beneath the spring perch. I jacked her up and got some jack stands under the frame to take some tension the coils so I can stick my big hands inside the coils.

IMG_5297.jpg
What a major pain in the ass it was to get those on. I can't believe I got the bolt started on a first try, I attempted this earlier this week with no luck at all just lots of cussing and throwing wrenches around lol.
Here's all done

I also have these JKS spring brackets which I scored at a good price form JKbrick, thanks Mark. Unfortunately they won't work with my AEV track bar bracket, I guess I will need to get JKS track bar bracket too to make it work. Probably also their adjustable track bar.... more [emoji383][emoji383][emoji383]lol. Anyhow, I decided I'll just try the retainers for now and see if that keeps my springs in place. Just need to find a spot to flex her out which is a challenge around here.
I think I'll be ok with just the retainers on the axle, even if my coils do become loose and unseated at full droop, there really isn't too far for them to go. Looks like the lip around the spring buckets up top will stop the them form tipping over.

Second, I finally got around to adjusting my E-brake. Both wheels and calipers off for this.
IMG_5311.jpg
Once I pulled the caliper off on passenger side a decent size rock fell out of somewhere [emoji848], I have no idea where it was stuck but I guess it's good that it's out

Anyway
IMG_5308.jpg
Through that little hole, with a brake spoon to get to the adjustment screw.
IMG_5309.jpg
I just went as tight until I couldn't spin the rotors by hand, and then back it off a little so I can spin em by hand with some pressure. Fairly easy to do, just time consuming and a little of a pain in the ass.

Last but not least, I looked into adjusting my steer stops in the front.
IMG_5318.jpg
The whole time I own my jeep I was under an impression that the adjustment bolt is welded In place. I finally looked it up online and came across Eddies write up on it..... lol it's only the nut that's welded to the bolt and not the whole thing welded to the knuckle lol
IMG_5320.jpg
I added some washers to stop my turn. I need to got longer bolts as I have bring the stops out further than I thought. My brake lines were getting dangerously close to my offset shock/bracket. Also I can't figure out what was stopping my wheels front turning as it wasn't the stop bolts at all, I was suspecting my steering stabilizer biding against the track bar bracket, but I am not sure if that it anymore. I think it was just going as far as the steering box allowed it, making a weird wine at full turns. I got that fixed to some degree, I will have to look into this a little more.
Hard to tell on the pictures but with up travel my shock body will be very close to my brake line, especially when wheels are turned.

I need to find a spot to flex her out and see how everything clears, also hopefully a trip to off-road park next weekend🤞[emoji869][emoji108][emoji106]

Good work. My coils always reseat fine in the upper mount even when they drop. You should be fine.

Thanks, my guess it that I should be ok too, they don't really drop out very much maybe like 1/2" and the lip on the spring bucket is like 1.5" so no way for tipping out. 🤞

Just used the summit racing link you posted and ordered the brake bleeder. Hopefully I can get at least the rears changed before next Sunday, maybe all of them? We'll see

Another brake fluid bleed/flush for me today. Ever since I Installed new brake lines I flushed my system about 5 times now as I suspect some air might have got into the master cylinder. I probably ran about twelve 32oz bottles of fluid through my system. Everything seems to be working fine now, abs engages and does the job and it doesn't really take much to slow down and stop while driving normally. I think I am just over reacting and I keep slamming the brakes to see how it stops. Well it never really stopped that great with 37s. I might be seeing some ProGrips coming my way pretty soon.

On the bright side I picked up this sexy fire extinguisher quick release. It could be mounted on the roll bar or any flat surface

TMR makes some really neat stuff for builders. I can't wait to move into a house with big garage, purchase a welder and start fabing stuff up.
Oh I am also guilty of dropping $80 on this gem [emoji854]

I ended up picking up a vacuum brake bleeder after using a friend's. These things are awesome, multiuse and IMO cleaner/easier to use than the pressure systems.

It's essentially the mightyvac, but I got this matco for under $100 off eBay.

Thanks, I will definitely look into this. If I do decide that I need to flush again it will probably be a vacuum bleed. I will also be picking up new bleeder valves.

Good stuff. TMR also has great customer service. I recently got an incorrect part from them, and they handled it with no hassle and overnighted the part from Ontario Canada.

Great people, but the only problem is shipping cost if you need to return something. It's a PIA to ship to Canada.

Thanks for your feedback on the company guys. I was looking at their stuff and I am interested in tie rod and drag link, possibly in aluminum. I might take one for the team and try them out.

Just stick it in and squirt it. You'll grow more confident after each one.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to run through my rig with a Grease gun before my trip next week [emoji23]

Nothing hard about it, it's just something hat I don't really enjoy doing lol. I only have drive shafts (with greaseable u joints) and ball joints to grease so far. There will be more zerks coming very soon. Now I wish I got solid u joints on my 1350 shafts.

Also today I relocated my differential breather hoses up higher a bit. I've been meaning to do this since like a year and a half ago, that's when I purchased the hose to do it.
IMG_5359.jpg
Front diff breather got relocated right next to relocated vacuum pump.
IMG_5362.jpg
And rear right up through this plastic panel
IMG_5368.jpg
Through the foam behind the taillight.
IMG_5372.jpg
And just up right here with a zip tie
IMG_5371.jpg
I also added a hose clamp on each axle side
