Ok so i emailed RC to get the story on the logging low down. Here is the email she sent back, I will email her again wedz before the we wheel!
"Yes there is timbering going on. In the 12 years we have been open this
is the 3rd time they have timbered so it is something we are used to and
have learned how to deal with it. They are not clear-cutting, rather they
are select timbering, which is less intrusive. They are presently on the
north half of the East property. They have impacted Trails 1A and 1B. As
soon as they are done in that area we will go in and re-mark, lengthen,
add obstacles, etc., in that area. In the meantime we are advising people
to stay out of that area. I don't know which area they head to after
that, but the plan is the same, to go in behind them and restore and
overhaul the trail network.
Every winter we close the 101 trail and the J trails heading down into the
West. They do not get any sun and usually remain iced over all winter so
we close them.
Usually Trail H and the Power Line remain passable, however, this past
weekend we temporarily closed the West property due to the icy conditions.
On Saturday many hours were spent recovering people trying to come up H
or the power line so we closed it on Sunday.
Trail conditions can change in a few days with favorable temp change. If
you want to check back with me a week before your trip I can update you on
current conditions."
