RAUSCH CREEK TRIP 10/26-10/27 (GREENS/BLUES with a touch of BLACKS)

Spare tire just fits. Some of the weight is on the bumper. There is no room for movement. And.....I bent my antenna mount a tiny bit. I'll take Tom's advice, for now.
I was trying to be the smart ass lol but really if your going to upgrade before to long with a different tire carrier I wouldn't be to concerned about that weight dif. between your old tires and the new one. If your running around your home town with out a spare on its only a phone call away. If your at Rausch and blow a tire your screwed. so I would at least put it on for wheeling trips.

The tire is actually sitting in the curved portion of the stock bumper. I really don't want my Jeep to have a tire smell every time I open my doors. So, it will stay on the tire carrier. $1500 is a lot for a new bumper/carrier

I would really like to try Rausch Creek we drive by it a couple time a year heading to Carlisle fairgrounds. We have a JKU Sahara with lifted on 34's re-geared to 4:10's but it still has factory skid plates. You guys think we will have problems?

No, I went with stock 32's the 1st time. Then 34's, not a problem either time

Not in the least bit, you should be able to do everything we try with no problems. Get yourself put on the list and make sure you come camp for good times

Alan, how smashed are thr bump stops? If the tire is too tight against thr bump stops it could break a stud on the carrier.

Also a good carrier should cost less than 1400, unless you are going aev or evo

You could always trim the bump stops to fit, that's what I had to do for my carrier.

I don,t know how your bump stops are, but mine are very flimsy. They are not solid rubber like they were on my YJ and TJ. And I read a post on the forum that said to torque them to 35ft-lbs. I'm worried about breaking the studs. As far as the tire carrier goes, the Poison Spyder carrier I am getting, is $1479. That's before I get it painted or powder coated, not including the $100+ in add ons to go with it.
