RAUSCH CREEK TRIP 10/26-10/27 (GREENS/BLUES with a touch of BLACKS)

Also, I've noticed since I have to be super, super not to do ANY damage, its making me learn quicker about how to do it and what lines to pick. I find myself being more strategic about it rather than just going balls out to try and get over something. So don't be to intimidated and try and challenge yourself a bit. You'll surprise yourself and so will your Jeep.

THIS^^^ I haven't wheeled yet in my jeep, but we got in some pretty squirrely places with some HWMMVs and let me tell you, a little bit of know how helped an awful lot. Some good lines, a little guts and some decent spotting seriously made the difference between a downed vic and good story. I don't plan on being a super chicken, and although I hope to have no major incidents, I do intend to have some fun! :twocents:

Replaced the front driveshaft that got damaged in the first trip. Glad that's out of the way.

Actually, I think I did greens and blues last time I went. I remember thinking my jeep wasn't going to make it bey then was super surprised when I did.

Yeah Tom!!!!! You don't have to have new tires to go. Just make sure to buy your wife something nice for the anniversary:thumb:
Yeah I know:) but I'm at a point where I know my jeep well enough that I'm tired of driving past all the fun Lines:mad:

If I had to decide between mods and the trip, I say trip. At the same time, I love MODS!!!!!!
That there is the problem:yup:

As far as the bike goes, I've been considering to sell mine for more $$$ for the Jeep. ATV too:thinking:
I've waited over 35 years for a bike I don't know if I could sell her.

In your world of uncertainty, one thing is certain, we are gonna bug the shit of you until we see your name on here :D
LOL I'm pretty sure I'm going, just don't know what day or if camping.

You have to come. Have to. I will be there. That in itself is awesome enough. And look at all these OTHER Wayalifers! And you know... did you see all the talk of beer, marshmallows and campfires? Did I mention Wheeling? Psh.

And I mean, I want all the mods in the world too, and I dont have any so who am I to talk... But you should come so you use your mods that you have. I hope my sales pitch works :)
LOL it definitely helped I also have moon pie things and last time I camped I had smore stuff to but never got it out.

Trust us, you'll be fine with your setup to do pretty much all the greens and probably squeak through 1 or 2 blues that we do. I was just as worried first time I went and no I can't think of missing a trip. Looking forward to meeting you.
I was nervous too. the first time I went i didn't think I was going to make it over the little hill at the bottom of the parking lot and cv I had my boys walk me threw the whole thing and I was stock. you'll be fine:yup::thinking::yup: you'll be fine

Through out my life I had 2 motorcycles, the first one on my late 20s was a rice burner 750 cc and later in my 40s a 1500 mean streak. I drove both like I stole them and I got away with murder, never drop them or accidents of any kind and now at 50 I sold the cruiser, bought a jeep and found myself writing to you.
I figured at this time in my life I would not want to end on a wheel chair or even dead..... Sell the bike and jeep on my friend :)
Back in the day my wife had a pillow fund I didn't know about until we needed a fridge that was early 90's. Now I have a nice soft tail standard and just take nice slow cruses. I have watched a lady die while holding a sheet to shade her while we were on a fundraiser ride which really slowed me down but there is something about the freedom while you ride I just can't give up yet. I have 5 years till I'm 50 so maybe then:D

Hell yeah!

Wheelin' isn't actually that expensive if you don't break anything. $15/night for camping & $35 for the day of wheelin'.
I may have been a little anal and figured 60 for gas, lunch for the trip and food while camping. and 2 people are 42$ i think

I'll be using majority of the bypasses.
Don't forget when we did that green hill climb you went up pretty easy and I relocated my stabilizer so where ever I can go you can surely go. oh and its nice to finally have some color on here

What would you recommend in Armor beneath my rig since I already have OEM skids on my fuel tank and t-case?
with the Tj one thing that is really important is a steering box skid. It just hangs out there looking for rocks.

This will be my second time going. If you tell me I can make it I'll give harder trails a shot
If I go you go no problem. and if that was your first time wheeling in my noob opinion you did really good.

Errr... cash or credit at these places? Gotta be prepared!

Sent from my phone while I should probably be getting work done

Bring cash for Echo Valley ($15/night and to be safe $8 for firewood). Rausch Creek takes both. Don't forget money for ice and your BK Croisandwiches!!!

Hahaha Im gonna bring McGriddles, son!!! :cheesy:

Someone said they have an SW meter they are bringing correct? I'm hoping someone can help me tune my CB I just ordered. I ordered the Midland handheld I posted earlier with a firestik side mount and antenna.

Wanted a secure and clean mount. Would I stillchave to ground that? That'll be easier I think... can mount to the seat bolts since it will be inside.
