Rausch Creek 9/14 blacks and blues trip pics!!

I feel with diff coils ill be happy for a while. I do plan to someday do a stretch tho which is why I was thinking coils and maybe long arm. Also really want to move west so another reason for coils...well in my mind lol.

I want to play devils advocate for a minute...I have also been debating on the coil-overs , BUT....I always come back to the same question in my head...How much difference are they really going to make compared to my coil spring and long Bilstein shocks?

Would your 2 Dr. Rubi have done any better at Rausch Creek last weekend with them? It performed great!

In my opinion to have a successful off-road vehicle you need:

-Lift (Ground Clearance)
-Tires (Traction)
-Lockers (All 4 wheels rotating)
-4-Lo (Crawl factor)

They are a HUGE bling factor and droop like crazy but back to my question...How much BETTER will my Jeep or any Jeep perform with them installed vs. the coil and shock traditional set-up???????? My Jeep flexes pretty good already!

Eddie runs them and all the Offorad Evo Jeeps and they are badass...I am just trying to justify how much better they will perform.........

Lets discuss!!!!!!!

I am with you on this one. I am expecting about 2-3% improvement in performance. I think that coilovers will have best benefit combined with a long arm kit ... I think with that set up you will get a little less articulation as your tires/axles will be able to drop lower to compensate for body roll. I also expect that going fast I will get some improvement in performance, I like to floor it on the green trails sometimes, so I think I will see a little bit of a smoother ride there.
What I don't expect is to be able to do more challenging trails than I already am ...
Having said all that I am planning to get coilovers with my mid arm lift and at some point upgrade to long arm and possibly stretch the 2 door a bit, but because of what I said earlier I am getting much needed upgrades first and leaving these 2 on the back of the list for now.

I am sure I would be very happy with the evo plush rides which I what I plan on getting. I know after driving mikes around the block a few times with the kings it rides like a dream. I just feel tho if I was going to spend almost 1500 or more on just shocks alone, id rather just get the full coilovers and have more adjustability if I ever needed it.

Sounds like a really wise choice. From what Don and Lori said the ride is night and day in comparison to a standard set up. Its not just the travel its the smoothness of the ride. Although I'm still running stock rubi set up , hearing them describe what the gains are with the coil overs that is something I would invest in if it were in my budget. I don't know about the rest of you but at the end of the day im pretty worn out but I have beat the hell out of my body and if this system ment the difference if taking pain pill half way through the day and not I'm all for it.
