There is an interesting story about this kiawe (mesquite) tree. It was planted near the beach in front of the Halekulani Hotel where we are staying in 1887. It fell over in a storm in 2016…instead of cutting up the tree and removing it, they covered the roots with burlap and allowed the tree to recover…one branch survived and started to reorient itself towards the sky. I remember when it fell over …

I would assume deer or possibly a cow/calf.
There is a lot of small cemeteries around here.That would be my guess. Too short to be adult human leg bones, and too thick to be from a kid.
But then you might be living on a sacred Native American burial ground.
