Adding an 'official' home office. Framing done today. 10 foot ceilings...fun stuff moving that shit around.

And got to use my cool new multitool to cut out the doorway on the floor.

Looking good! It’s always fun doing a full renovation, until you come across surprises which I hope you didn’t find too many lol

I keep telling myself I need to get one every time I'm doing a flooring job and and using my undercut saw.

Here's the project I'm in the middle of now. Continuing flooring all down stairs. The renter grade carpet was new when we moved in but was already beat down.20210106_102116.jpg20210106_102129.jpg20210106_170314.jpg20210106_170328.jpg

Moving walls too?

Converting to a raised slab so all walls need to be gone (except bearing wall, of course). Most of them were rotted away at the base from prior flooding, so I would've needed to rebuild them anyway.

We'll be moving one wall about a foot so we can split the bathroom into a 1.5 bath.

And the progress continues...

Not shown: all the rotten floor joists someone thought was a good idea to leave in place unable to support any weight whatsoever. [emoji849]

That looks like a ton of work. Are cinder blocks the typical foundation style out there? As in just laid down where ever like in your pic? No concrete slab?

Original construction was cinder block on a footer all around the perimeter. Main floor joist beam was set on 2x2 foot brick piers. The bullshit you see in the photo is years of bubbas "fixing" sagging and rotten floor joists.

Its crazy what they used to do... Looks like a big job man. You’ve been busy for sure.

That’s funny. My house is built identically and the crawl space looks pretty similar. That’s a ton of work but will be awesome.
