The “In shah Allah” factor is real. Many very pious Muslims believe that everything that happens is God’s will. For example many will not wear seatbelts because they believe if God wants you to die- or live he will and it’s got nothing to do with seatbelt use. In fact some believe it’s actually an insult to God if you buckle up.
Likewise firearms safety is looked at through the same prism. They will discharge a gun right at your feet or by your head with vary a thought and muzzle, safety selector and finger discipline is NOT a thing- unless they have received extensive western military training.
