You are making many false assumptions. We are conservative investors who invest in things like mutual funds rather than directly in stocks. Until 2 years ago this was good for an 8% annual yield (since 1986), but only 7% at the moment. Over the long term, that is still really good. Always seeking a comfortable retirement rather than to get rich quick.
