PROUD to have VOTED

So what is really going on? It seems to me all the news is siding with Biden so I don't know what to believe. Does Trump still have a chance?
 
The only one who's called the race is the media. Nothing is official until it's no longer contested. There's a lot of lawsuits and recounts going on right now and some pretty glaring evidence of foul play and just plain shitty jobs, so this will be going on for awhile.

Well yes and no. The news channels have added up the reports from the states, they don’t count it and they don’t call it never have, I know you’re not saying they do but a lot of people right now think that the media is the one calling the election. They merely report what the states are telling them and adding of the electorals that would be awarded and once over 270 say hey this guy is the projected winner. The states never certify the results until all votes are counted and canvassing has been completed this is normally, some states are different, done by the end of the month. Then they send their electors early December with their certified choice. Now, this was THE most watched election ever, from both sides, including poll watchers, double checking to ensure that people did not vote in person and mail in, etc. it was the most secure election in history, even with dept homeland publicly saying so to restore faith in the results, and the rhetoric that it wasn’t in my opinion is very dangerous to democracy. As for the lawsuits at different states, almost all have gotten thrown out as they have zero evidence, the ones that have not yet are not about a significant number of votes that could change the results. The recounts that are happening are normal recounts not because they have evidence of “widespread fraud” there are regularly recounts triggered by close results anyways. There is propaganda being spread of we found this evidence, or here’s what we heard these people say, but none have yet had any evidence and most debunked. I am saddened that one of the most valued American rights of voting is being cast in such a bad light, and more so worried that people are believing that based on a few videos and posts some even becoming violent because of it. I’m all for being skeptical of anything govt does and wanting clear oversight and transparency. But when it comes down to it the votes are the votes and have no evidence yet to believe otherwise, YES it’s not official yet it is currently a projection until all states certify which happens in the coming weeks, and there is currently NO reason to believe that the results will be any different when certified or there will be any judicial intervention. And for the record because people will likely bash me for sharing this post and assume my personal views, I don’t like either of the candidates.

I agree with this. The out come is the outcome once the stsres certify their results. Media passing along projected winners and referring to Biden as President elect whem nothing has been called is very irresponsible in my opinion. Look what happened in 2000. For over a month we had a "president" that wasn't the winner. Not saying the results will be the same this go around but if that happens. Holy fuck look out. Occupy this that or the other and "peaceful" protests will be the general narrative.

‘Most secure election in history’

How’s that quote even arguable or quantifiable?

1. Have you researched all the other elections since the late 1700s?

2. How can that be said when mail in ballots were at an all time high? There is no 100% sure proof way to ensure every single ballot was legit. Impossible.

3. There has already been MULTIPLE examples of issues with ballot boxes being burned, postal workers dumping/losing ballots, mysterious ballots not being counted or being found. I’d post examples but I don’t want to rob you the joy of peer checking yourself.

I will say I am 100% against mail in ballots, if you can’t take the time to vote in person then you probably don’t take the process or the right to vote seriously. Understood there are examples of people being hospitalized and whatnot that need this option.

In AZ, when I voted in person, they checked and double checked my ID. I had to confirm all of my information with a poll worker standing over me. Then they printed my ballot, to which I signed the envelope and another poll worker verified my signature against my DL. Now, for mail in ballots in AZ, you just fill it out and sign the envelope. Drop it off and WAM BAM your vote is counted. They verify your signature against whatever signature they have on file at the county recorders office. How’s that legit? I’m verified / scrutinized at a much higher level for voting in person?

I think polls should be open longer to allow voter flexibility but ALL (save some health concerns) votes should be in person. If all votes matter, then illegal ones SHALL never be counted and the surest way is to vote in person.

I was in Iraq when the first votes happened and to see people lined up for miles under threat being attacked to cast a ballot was something to truly appreciate and something we take for granted here. I apologized to almost every citizen voting for the line and they couldn’t happier. And here we are bitching that we can’t vote from our phones. Fucking lazy.
 
Unfortunately mail in ballots in some areas were the only way to vote. Pissed me off that it was that way here in Montana. I’d much rather vote in person... I did drop off my ballot in person at the courthouse because I didn’t trust mailing it in
