Project Blue Jeep

I'm hoping when I drop my engine off for the overhaul that you take a lil more time and make sure safety is a priority

its a little obnoxious. But it came with the Jeep 🤷🏻‍♂️
And if this doesn’t work to seal this crappy rust pitted surface flange I’m cutting it the f off and clamping it. 3 separate tries is enough, so hopefully the ridiculous amount of sealant works.

Engine sounds nice and quiet and heathy.
hole in the muffler will be dealt with soon. Muffler came with Jeep. Looks like it’s gonna be far too loud. But free. So we shall find out.

Gonna let the water circulate the cooling system a couple days then flush any contaminants out and refill with antifreeze. And that should just about wrap this up, on to the next one.

That is a great looking Jeep! I want a TJ

Finally had a little trail time. It rained on the way there. (No top) then we found mud (still no top). Lesson learned, don’t go mudding with a full interior, this took forever to clean. But when the opportunity strikes and you’ve got kids with you, you floor it for the smiles. New engine holding up great, tailpipe clamp fell off, whoops. Fun fact, mesh sunshade does nothing to stop mud and water.

The days cam caught a few of the splash puddles so you can feel my wetness.

Interior got a full sponge bath and some fresh floor paint. Had to take all the vents out to clean inside the tubes. Just completely drenched he inside in both mud sand and strangely smelly water for a puddle.

Power washed the carpet on the driveway, highly recommend trying this.

Side note, who knows a good way to get mud out of the soft top fabric? I keep power washing and tried scrubbing a bit but doesn’t seem to be coming out

Nice puddle action. I love a good puddle. But the way passengers love puddles is pretty rewarding.

Ughh, mud, but at least you got out. Where did you end up going?
Just some state game area by gun lake, Yankee springs state park / Barry county.
Got most of the mud out of the top, bristle brush and dish soap then power wash.

It’s been a shitty couple months and even with all the cleaning it was great to get out. Got a little front end problem to track down now but nothing too horrible I don’t think. Got the tailpipe back on and clamped better.

Glad you got out and had some fun. Looks like it was a great time. We havnt seen a puddle here in a couple months now. I'd love to see more than 5 minutes of rain.
Cleaned up nicely.

That’s crazy. This heat down here is getting old fast though wish it would rain for a day or two and cool off to normal summer. I’ve gotta come see you soon, I haven’t forgotten I swear just crazy around here lately.

I've got a few parts that will help with that.. soon we will get em in your hands.
Yeah I was just thinking the easy fix would be to lift it more so when it nose dives it would be farther away 🤣

Something is out of square. We did that to my neighbors LJ when the exhaust took a hit
That’s what I thought too, and it had to be that considering this wasn’t an issue pre rebuild. There’s really no adjustments that can be made there. The connections at the manifold to that pipe hold it pretty straight with no wiggle room. And then the mount by the trans on the upper side of the skid plate doesn’t move a bit. The muffler doesn’t hang square cuz I welded crooked. But that doesn’t push the front end any.

The only other thing that makes sense is if the front springs are just collapsing, which rough country, so also possible.

You know, I’ve been hearing and feeling a weird noise/feeling when I turn to drive into the parking garage (turning right and really steep). I wonder if I’ve got something similar happening. I’ll check it this week.
Do me a favor when you’re looking at it and let me know if the pipe sits further passenger then the yoke of the drive shaft if you look straight up as that’s probably where my issue lies.

Good point
