Power Steering Loss on a Jeep Gladiator

I smell what you're cookin'. Had a guy on a Kawasaki forum choose to adhere to and reiterate Kawasaki corporate's advice as he was sort of an advocate for them being he named his forum after the vehicle. He was dead set against ANY upgrade besides the ones he's personally done to his own vehicle. I could see his reasoning behind his demeanor in his posts.

I don't understand the need to be condescending to me though. Sorta weird. But cool, leave the aux battery in. I'll do more research and perhaps put mine back in and then thank you later.
LOL - you're kidding yourself if you really think that I'm just reiterating what Jeep says just because of whatever you're imagining. I honestly couldn't give two shits about Jeep and if you've been on this forum long enough, you'd know that I kinda hate the direction they're going in and say it publicly. The ONLY thing I ever hope to do is help OTHERS the best that I can and based on WHAT I KNOW. And, as I said before, TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT - I really couldn't give a shit what you do with your Jeep being that it's, YOUR JEEP.

I don't understand why your taking all this so personally, sorta weird but cool. By all means, please do whatever YOU think is best for your Jeep (y)

Now we're getting somewhere! Yeah, I take things a bit personally when someone speaks or writes to me condescendingly. I'm new here. First post up above. In search of a place where you can speak freely and curse if need be, so maybe this IS a good place for that without fear of being booted. We'll see... in the meantime, I'm gonna search your forum for posts on this aux battery debacle. FB isn't always the best place for opinions/conjecture. It's usually more fun though. Maybe this place is a fun place to post and better for info as forums tend to have more technical discussions vs photo bombing and such.

Bizill....Go away, your fragile little ego is not going to get built up here! Aux Battery DOES NOT EQUAL Power Steering; Which is what this thread is about! Some of us have an issue with the actual reason for this thread and you are filling it with useless bullshit!

No sir, I'll stay awhile. Appreciate what you're saying. Back on point... came into this thread as I like to learn about potential issues before I encounter them. Good day.

I feel ya. Same goes for Polaris (hate them, had one) as they try to deny you warrantee for this, that and the other. Good thing for the Magnuson-Moss act as not many, probably especially in a Jeep forum keep things stock long.
The Magnuson-Moss act is about who can work on your vehicle. It says you need to use equivalent components. It does not require that a warranty be honored if an issue is due to a design change, or inadequate parts.

Very specific. Good info. At minimum it's better than nothing at all. Imagine not being able to customize anything at all and worrying about warranty work being denied. Also understand the perspective of the manufacturer not wanting to warranty components due to shoddy aftermarket install or parts!

I had this issue intermittently over the course of the last 2-3 months. I noticed recently the headlights dimming when stopped, and had the battery checked.

The main battery was only showing 220 CCA. Bad main battery.

I replaced the battery, and haven't seen the problem yet, though it has only been a week.

I continue to have a really strong suspicion this is battery related, when I lost power steering it was a super cold morning and my on screen voltage was showing over 15V. As we get into colder weather here hopefully people can document more cases of this happening and we can sort it out. I think the factory batteries aren't keeping up in cold weather and the power steering is the first thing to let go.
