I'm not sure where the home town comment comes from. Harrison drove close to six hours this past weekend, along with a few others of us, to meet up with everyone in Uwharrie. There were folks that drove even further that. All he is trying to say is that the ideal situation would be to plan a place where we can all stay together.
 
I will be more than happy to help plan as well.. Map out some routes, call hotels to book blocks of rooms, etc. I am in SC but travel to wheel in TN, NC, GA, and KY often with my local club and know the areas pretty well.

it comes from me responding to his comment on keeping everyone together! I understand that is the point when have I/we ever made an event and asked people to stay in different places? My problem is that his original comment was rude and came off as don't change an event because we liked it and who cares if other people can come(I understand this is not what he meant but it is how it sounded) also we have stated more than one time that we will move on with another thread which is why I left it at that I suggest you do the same!
 
Ok, this has gotten a little out of hand. I want this event open to everyone and am willing to adjust to get as many people involved as possible. We are all apart of the same group and events are open to everyone. I believe things are in the works that will make everyone happy so let's take a step back and get things back on track here.

Agreed. I'm hoping that between you, Jay, myself and a few others, we can get an epic event that will get more members together than ever before! :yup:

Agreed. Reading a comment is way different than seeing someone say it. :beer:
 
It is important to remember, I am not Mel Wade and I do not have the support of several sponsors. It is a huge undertaking to plan a multi-day trip for even a few Jeeps. I have no idea what the ultimate number will be but there is no way everyone interested will be able to join for multiple days.

My idea (that's all it is for now) to have more local people join for a day when the group is in the area was done to be inclusive not exclusive. I am NOT a fan of grouping (beyond jokes) any area. If I feel there is a segregatory mentality, I will be out.


PS ...yes, as of the 2014' Oxford dictionary segregatory is a word it was a word of the day last week so I get points for using it ;)

Agreed. We can work together and see what we can't work out! One big happy Wayalife family!
 
Sounds pretty crazy to attempt to put this together. Good on all who will be doing so.

That said, I'm in. Wherever and whenever. As much notice as possible would be great since I have to clear the schedule. But I'm in.

Yes sir. It is a fun park. Nearest hotel is a good bit away, and only one store remotely close. Lots of trails, awesome night riding, great camping, no cell service until you get really high in the mountains. They have some really awesome trails there.
