How did the pilot of the airplane not see the helicopter? Jets fly faster than helicopters. At that angle of approach at those speeds, the helicopter would have been in view of the jet longer than the jet would have been in view of the helicopter. That said, with all the air traffic in the area, the situation is much more complicated than who didn’t see who.

My guess is the pilots involved were distracted or let themselves get fixated. Or there was equipment failure. Or any combination of issues. There’s a lot going on in the cockpit when flying through heavily trafficked air space.

Whoever made the comment the helicopter flew into the airplane has no idea what they’re talking about. The truth is, the airplane and the helicopter flew into each other. Where the fault lies won’t be known until the investigation discovers the cause.

No DEI hires have been fired, suspended or placed on leave with pay.

All that’s happened is DEI related programs and mechanisms have been shut down. Mandatory DEI classes are shut down and all the freaking emails have ceased- thankfully. In theory, all Employees whose primary duties were related to DEI were supposed to be placed on paid leave but I’m not sure if that has actually happened. They may just be rolled in to HR.

I do not know for sure if there is any type of official designation or notation on the records of employees hired through DEI. I can tell you that for most DEI hires it’s painfully obvious they were not qualified for the positions they were hired for and that they did not actually meet the standards for training and or evaluation. That is painful apparent to all those around the DEI hires.

It was a Russian spy helicopter tasked to take out the US ice skating team to insure Russia gets the most gold medals in the next olympics. I’m certain of it. Lol
 
All "conspiracy postings" aside, this is a mess that shouldn't have happened at our national airport that carries the leaders of the world in and out of our Capitol.

Maybe someone smart here has an answer as to why TF would you be conducting "Training Missions" through an active airfield like this and in the direct flight paths of airliners? That doesn't make any sense. That's just asking for something like this to occur and then the rampant speculation happens like it is now
 
As with all major disasters there’s always a lot of speculation and finger pointing. All I can say is I’m praying for the family’s of all involved here including the air traffic controllers I can’t imagine the burden and second guessing they are going through.
