Pet Peeves - What Pisses You Off?

Verizon! Without fail, every Christmas morning I would get a notification AND an email reminding me that I owe them money. It just pushed my buttons. So, I put it on automatic payment to be done with it. Well, merry Christmas to me, from verizon. Bastards

We are about done with Verizon. Testing another company soon to see how it goes and then will jump ship. They suck and just keep raising prices.

We are gonna try Mint. We don't leave home all that much so not like we need service in the middle of the desert anymore. It's cheap too and uses Tmobile towers so should have decent reception most places.
Check out Google Fi as well. It uses T-Mobile towers, US Cellular, etc., but operates as a sort of encrypted overlay so the underlying infrastructure can not snoop into it beyond what is needed for baseline communication.

That is similar in price to all the other big carriers. I would just stay with verizon.

Being out in the middle of nowhere is why we switched to Verizon years ago. Crazy thing is, their service out there pretty much sucks now and companies like ATT and TMobile are better. At least, we get some signal with them out at our Tin Camp but ZERO with Verizon.

That’s why we’ve been with Verizon for so long is because their service, data and voice was excellent. For the past 5 years not so much, voice is acceptable but data really sucks nearly all over town. Doesn’t matter, LTE, 5G or 5Guw 👎🏼

Yup. Not sure what happened but I can barely make or receive phone calls from my home in Carson City now

In fact, now that I think about it, I was talked into giving their 5G internet a try earlier in the year, risk free and at the time, was promised that it would be at least as fast as my cable internet. Needless to say, I hooked it all up and... couldn't even get it set up on the network - my reception was that bad :ROFLMAO:

Wow that sucks, it’s not much different at my house. I could be wrong but I think their towers are maxed since they started leasing their bandwidth to other carriers. Supposedly they favor their own subscribers but it doesn’t feel like it.

Our experience with ATT has been horrible the last two or three years. Here in rural Virginia the 5G is terrible at best. We are looking at switching but no one around us is happy with their service with any carriers. They all went balls out on 5G around here.

The voice mail (with translation) works really well. Almost zero spam messages or calls make it through.

The sim works (at least for voice calls) in hundreds of countries with no extra charge, including no long distance charges to call to/from the US.

Given a compatible phone, the Wi-Fi phone calls work really well (don't need a cell tower at all if Wi-Fi is available), and calls seem to transition between Wi-Fi and cell service without glitches or dropped calls.

But maybe Verizon is like that too...

That checks none of the boxes I want to address and none of that is of any interest or value to me. But thanks for the sales pitch.
