MOTECH Medical Help for MOBY

The new sensor,I had a shop install, was done incorrectly? It's awesome that you figured it out! [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
Maybe the shop didn't want to drop the transfer case lower to get to the sensor. It was laying on top of the case. We lowered the transmission down to get enough clearance to install the sensor. We checked the sensor as well and it worked perfectly.

I will be giving Moby a full performance tune. I will see what extra power I can get out of it along with getting a better performing transmission shift pattern. I will make a short video of what this process involves. I'll do a before and after comparison.

Seriously? That's pretty lame. Glad you guys don't take shortcuts.

He told me they lowered the case to remove the old one and replace with the new sensor. WTF?

That is so awesome! I can't wait to see the video and share it with others. Thank you so much for your help - you guys really are the best :thumb:

You already running the V8 or there to have one installed?..;) I remember you talking about having that done.

I have a 5.3 V8. Swap was done back in 2013. Turn Key Engine Supply installed it using Motech's hardware. Turn Key was recommended to me (by Motech) at the time because Turn Key guarantees that it will pass California's emissions requirements.

How do you like it? And how long did they take? Because I'm considering either a LS or Hemi but don't know much about the swap.

I love it! The 5.3 works great for what I need. I'm never going larger than 37s. With 40s, the 6.2 would be a better choice. It took about a month to do. I don't think Turn Key does swaps anymore though. Motech is making it easier than ever to swap in an LS engine! New improvements to their kit are happening as we speak.

Well thanks again for the fed back I will definitely look into it.

What Moochie said ^^^

If you're seriously considering an LS swap, I would give Motech a call :thumb:

Didn't know you had a 5.3 moochie. I thought you had a 5.7. Well good to know cause I was thinking a 5.7 for knuckles but might have to consider a 5.3 again. What trans do you have it paired with? Your still running a stock t case correct?

I am using the GM 6L80E transmission with a stock non Rubicon transfer case. The 6L80 has a 4:1 1st gear which makes up for the loss of the 4:1 Rubicon TC gear ratio.

Just got an update from the Dr. Robbie and he said they're removing the balancer with trigger wheel so that they can replace it with a stock one.

He also pointed out that they removed the old AC compressor bracket with crank sensor mount being that it's no longer needed. As you can see, it allows for a lot cleaner look :yup:

Seriously, if any of you are looking to do a motor swap, LS is the way to go and doing it with a Motech kit is what I would recommend - these guys are the best :thumb:
