More rear axle travel than bolt on coilovers.

“Handicap the system”.....why would that be??

The original EVO MFG cantilever only had coilovers, there wasn’t a second shock location. I did this exact thing, had it setup with the dtd cantilever and towers and only ran coilovers for a year or so. Went with the air bump in the back so the only thing missing was a bump in the front but the rear is where you run out first anyhow. In now way does it “handicap the system”. Can you bomb as fast as with 2.0 bypasses added,.....no. But you can drive faster with 2.5s, or 3.0s. That’s just the nature of modifying.

Thing is, there's more to coilovers than just flex. Hell, they're not even the primary reason why I run coilovers. For me, it's about how fast I can go and to that end, I don't know of any kit that can offer the kind of rear end up travel that the DTD offers especially with the new upgrade we had gotten on Moby. This shot is what our rear axle looks like at a full bump. And, to be clear, that's a bigass ProRock 80 tucked way up there.

Did you have to make modifications for the axle to be able to have that much up travel or is that how it comes from evo?

By that I mean that the system works best with the bypasses. Especially being that with the bypass added you have the ability to fine tune things to a much greater degree and control more area of the shock travel therefore increasing performance.
