Middle Saint Vrain / Coney Flats. July 1st

Last night when I was installing my skid plates, I noticed that the rubber seal ripped and slung grease all over the undercarriage. It must have happened earlier this week when I test flexed the Jeep on a buddy's RTI ramp. Do you think it will hold up for the trip or should I get a 1350 ordered and shipped to Colorado?

Obviously, there's no way of knowing an exact time frame, but I would think that would hold up, especially since you're trailering the Jeep. You'll have to switch yoke too if you go 1350 so it will be more time consuming, may be better in the meantime to try and find a used drive shaft even if you just keep it in the Jeep as a precaution.

I'm going to call around today to find a good used one and may ahip a1350 to my hotel just in case. I haven't changed out a front in a while. A three jaw puller will take the yokes off - correct?

Should just come right off. However removing the nut, you may want a yoke holder, that nut has a lot of torque on it.

Cool - I knew there was something else. yes I have one e of those. You don't recall what size sockets are needed for the pinion nut?

I was just going to post that link, lol I knew you had just done in. The one on your Jeep didn't require a new pinion yoke, just a transfer case yoke correct? And did you have to use a puller on the tcase yoke?

aTX427, looks like there are a couple different types, so make sure you have the right tools depending on which one you get.

Correct, no pinion yoke needed. Nope, no puller needed on transfer yoke.

That suck I have my stock one. Not sure if it would work. It's off a 14 auto.

I have a 2007 and the 2012-17 are a different part number. Anyone know the difference in length?

Jeff,

I'll likely join.

Regarding driveshaft, just ride it till it goes. I doubt you'll lose it on this trail, but if you did we can get you out and there are plenty of local sources that you can get fixed in a couple hours no problem.

Nice I'll put you down as going. The people leaving from Denver are meeting at wal-mart up on c470. I posted it somewhere.
