Jeepers who workout, weights and gym thread

Been meaning to post in here.

Earlier this summer I started tracking my food daily. I was consuming around 3200-3500 cal a day. Only lifted 3-4 times a week for 45min to an hour. My weight was maintaining at 252 so I know my calorie intake was good for my day.

Well I did a fat lose/calorie deficit for 4 weeks. Dropped my calories down to 2500 a day a kept doing 200g of protein a day. Didn’t change what food I was eating just how much. Well I lost 13lbs and 6in off my waist. Down to 239! Gained muscle size in my legs and arms which was a plus. Slowly adding calories back into my day over that past 2 weeks now (back up to 2800 now) and still staying at my weight. Going to do a longer one post holiday season so trim out more.

How much of those calories was beer? lol 😆

In all seriousness congrats on the weight loss. It’s good to see with just reducing calories. Iv been on diets in the past with major food changes but always fail eventually. I love my beer, chips and pizza too much. 🤦‍♂️ I need to try this.

Check out Magnus Method. He trains Hollywood actors. His rule is for every 20 meals, eat 17 on point with your plan, the other 3 eat whatever you want.

lol no alcohol sadly during this cut. The beer adds to much calories to the day and the protein and food was more important

Will do. Definitely interested in anything that I can stay on track and still eat what I enjoy every so often. Thank!

Sounds good. 👍 Going to have to give it a try.

Let us know how it goes. I honestly ate whatever I wanted but for calorie sake it had to make sense into my day. Weighing and tracking your food even the day before helps a lot. I use an app called Cronometer. Makes it easy to keep track. Here is a screen shot for example of my day earlier this week

Thinking which picture to use so I don’t confuse you next time you call!!!!

How does t work? I have an inversion table thingy I use that gives a good stretch but hurts my feet.
Locks your ankles in place. You bend forward over the pad. Then when you come back up, it's all gravity on your lower back. If you hold a weight on your chest, it is more resistance. You can twist a little and work your obliques too.

Foam roller on the ground helps too. But these things are great. I've used them at a couple gyms but never had one for the house.
Same. I’ve used them in the past at public gyms and always felt good afterwards. I just picked up a reverse hyper. Still figuring it out but damn it feels good after using it.

I’ve been really focusing on building strength back into my core and back. Lifting heavier weights consistently last few months has been the single best thing I’ve done for my back. Funny that it’s the opposite of what the Doc’s recommended.

Ahhh ok thanks. Old man time and ahem interesting choices have me with various aches and pains. Had a decompressive laminectomy back in 21 which really helped me immeasurably. Still have compressed and arthritic disks and all the rest but can’t let it keep me from doing stuff.
