Jeep Gladiator Dash Electronics Flipping out

Long story short, we took our Gladiator out to do some pre-running and bombed across a very rough section of desert. And, somewhere along the line, we started getting all kinds of errors lighting up on the dash, things like Blind Spot errors and TPMS as well as random dings. Back on pavement and once it got dark out, we noticed the controls on the center stack of our dash started to blinking out as you can see in this video.

There were times when it got better and then out of nowhere, it'd start blinking again. I should note that our Infotainment brightness level started to dim as well and our Auto Start/Stop would turn off too. Just crazy stuff.

Anyway, I just got done checking the battery leads and ground connections at the frame and along the fender and so far as I can tell, everything check out. Any of you out there have this problem before? LOL

Run your codes to see if it will narrow it down.

I'd be worried something got pinched, so keep your nose detector on high alert.

when I pulled the center stack out of the JL to add the factory type switch panel, I noted the wiring was tight and lots of places it could chafe with enough movement, maybe a plug also came loose?

When you say "...bombed across a very rough section of desert." ... I think of a used car salesman - but it was only driven 20 miles a month by a little old lady 🤪

Just thought I'd post an update. I tried working on this problem the better part of the day and even into the night and now, things are even worse LOL :ROFLMAO:

For the record, the first thing I did was check the battery cables to make sure they were on tight and then checked all my ground bolts - the two on the frame and the ones on the fender just in front of the battery. After that and with no change, I pulled the main battery and checked my PCM connections as well as the leads on the auxiliary battery. All checked out. After carefully putting everything back together again, making sure nothing was pinched or damaged, I turned on the engine and went for a test drive. And at first, all was better! But then, after a mile or two, the center stack started blinking again and the EVIC started dinging as well.

By the time I got back home, things had gotten a lot worse and I no longer had a back up cam. After turning off the engine and then starting it up again, I now noticed that the Infotainment system had gone dark and the subwoofer started making a weird pulsating thump sound. And, that's about when I realized that the heater and defroster were on only, I couldn't turn either of them off being that I had no center stack controls or Infotainment system on. Eventually, the Infotainment system did boot up but then it constantly booted up and rebooted. When it finally started to stabilize out, I tried going to the climate controls to turn off the heater/defrost but no matter what I did, nothing would work. The OFF button didn't do anything and if I tired adjusting the temp or fan speed, they would just go right back to where they were. Super crazy weird and almost like the computer got hacked!!

Whoever said all this technology was a good idea to put in a Jeep 🤪

Every time I had a similar experience with my JK it turned out to be loose wiring on and to the battery. You say your connections have all been double checked. What about the battery itself? Internal injury from the rattle battle? Just spit balling since I am no electrical type. Ghost in the machine is a bitch.

When my JL Wrangler freaked out (luckily in the garage) due a dying battery, the insanity on the dash was similar.
