It's Time to SUPERSIZE Moby - MoTech 6.2L LS Jeep Motor Swap

Motech

Hello is this mic on???? As I explained but not very clearly is there is NO WAY at an afordable price you are going to build a turn key easy do it yourself kit! Unless you control all aspects of the kit such as EROD kits by chevy! Now you pay for all new and controled wiring, engine, transmission and tuning but is still not a one size fits all for the jeep platform. Robbie from day one has tried to make these kits as afordable for the common builder as possible and has flat out told me he would give them away if his bean counters allowed him to! The guy loves this stuff and went way beyond what I was expecting in my build. He is straight up on his explanations of what is going on and what is going to happen for said X scenario. Can come off brash but I would rather have that then beat around the bush. With that said and sorry for stirring any thing up I am impressed with the whole Mody build and have watched and learned from the whole thread! It has been a while and my first jeep build let alone my first EFI CanBus build and my first burned up vehicle build. I have a lot to learn on the off road side since all of my past stuff was full size trucks for mud running and drag racing AKA sand racing. You still bust stuff but at a different speed! I love my 5.3 and it does what I need it to do for now. A 6.2 would have forced me at a greatly accelerated pace to upgrade my drive train and I knew this from the start. Yes I had bugs and yes there were problems and yes it was a learning curve and yes now if I have a problem I wont be calling Motech in a panic wondering what the hell went wrong. For full disclosure I work on PLC's and understand electronics to a pretty good degree so the learning curve was vastly excelerated for me but I chose it to be that way also! Call these people and ask questions! Go to Vegas and drive one of his rides! Ask on these forums and take it all in with a grain of salt then make a educated decision! That is what these forums are for not??? I wish in years past I would of had a place like this instead of learning everything the hard way to get any info! Enjoy Moby it is a great build!!!

Just an update. Talked to Motech who apparently worked on Moby over the Thanksgiving weekend tying up loose ends, fixing unrelated leaks like one on the diff and one on the steering gear, checking for loose bolts (finding a couple) and going well beyond what I would have ever of hoped they'd do. I've also been told that they got the check engine light on the dash to work which is new to their kit! All the wiring under the hood is looking like factory now and I must say that I'm really impressed with their attention to detail. There is one speed sensor that is bad and they are hoping to replace today but after that, they should be able to take it into the lab to get certified. Starting to get excited now :yup:

Holy Smokes it's been a long haul!! I think I can align with most forum members when I say we're almost as anxious as you to see Moby home from the transplant hospital, especially since there's plenty of room at the new digs. Nobody sleeps on the street anymore. Congrats!!:yup:

Let me know if you need the 6L80E/6,2 dialed in tune..:thumb:
