Hinrichs 2.0

Did you find any clearance issues with the cage and the Trektop?

I do not. I do have a weird little fitment issue with the tops right latch that I have yet to really mess with or figure out, but its very tight/hard to close. I emailed bestop a while back about it and never got an answer. One of these days I will pull the top and side pieces and see if I can make it all fit better.

The only issues I had was with the hard top fitting with the clamps since you really need to grind it a little bit which I refused to do so I plan on selling the hardtop eventually.

Thanks Jim. I can't think of many places that would cause the latch to be that tight, but like you said, it's either the door surround out of place/loose or the cable isn't in the right place. Do you have the spring in the hole closest to the vehicle? You may be able to loosen it up if it's farthest out.

Yeah one of the cables was routed wrong, but I did fix that. Im thinking one of the sunrider brackets is maybe back too far or something which is giving me the tight fit. Otherwise the top fits perfectly and is easy to get the windows back on.

LUX LEDs i believe

On my 2 door I did the wallmart burners, but soon after I flexed out once I destroyed them so this time around I went with the LUX led kit. I used the 12 piece, but still have one left. 2 up front, 3 along the sides, and 3 in the back. If its still nice when I get home tonight I will get some pics of where I installed them. The wiring wasnt hard as they basically all reached and I only had to extend a few wires, but man its annoying to go from 11 lights into one connection in a clean way.

I plan on ordering this same kit. Any tips on doing the termination to a single point? Mine will be hooked up to the switch pros system and would like some advice.

I wish I knew a clean way, I just did a few 3 into 1 sections and made it work. I do need to redo it however as its a mess and annoys me as I just wanted them to work so I was getting annoyed when I ran out of wiring supplies.

Nothing new to update on, other than I need to get my inspection done. I have to laugh that it will be Emission Exempt this time.

No shit - are you exempt over there!?

Yeah, the cleanest way I can figure out is to run a 10 gauge wire loop (one positive and one ground) around the entire frame and tie each light directly to that loop. Having done the install, does that seem like it would work? It would just make one connection point and one termination per light.

Yup, only at 4775 miles or something like that. Just hope my one friend can do it for me since I really dont feel like swapping exhausts and tires.

That was my original plan, till I got lazy and just ended up pulling all the wires through the frame rails which actually worked really well to keep them protected.

this is what I asked LUX a while back and their reply.

"Is it possible to wire the lights in a series to have less wires running into the engine bay?"

"They need to be wired in parallel, but yes several can be wired together."

Thanks for the response. Makes sense.

So I am seriously thinking about considering getting the JCR half doors. While I do like the savvy look the best, simply due to the handle location, the price I just can not justify getting them after adding in the upgraded hinges. I got a slightly lower quote from Trail Jeeps, but I need to see if shipping is free like JCR is offering currently.

I would still just love to get oem, but dont see spending 3k+ on that since I know I wont have this jeep long enough to make it worth while.

Saw these in person and not overly impressed. For $500 I'd probably rather have tube doors, but that's a style opinion. Biggest gripe was they didn't close properly to line up with the body. Took a pic for you.
