Hinrichs 2.0

lol I like how it BARELY fits:crazyeyes:

I have like 2-3" once its inside lol. It does scrape the flexible trim on the way in and out.

When you don't have to scrape the windows or clear snow off of it in the morning it will look mighty fine!

My garage is slightly heated which is really nice. I was excited about snow this morning tho lol and not having to do anything.

Dumb question but why did you change your light bar to a Amber lens, is there a benefit?
Sorry I've always seen these and never knew why

Better visibility in snow/fog. Doesn't seem to have such a blinding reflection.

Edit: and usually they are just a clip on cover as well so they can be readily removed

This :thumb:. They are just clip on covers which are nice to have the option. I dont know if its how I have the bar adjusted, but I dont tend to really use it when its snowing since it almost makes it harder to see since everything is lit up. From what I remember however when its not actually snowing it helps on the road when its covered a lot.

So I am considering maybe ordering this system. I would like to have an oem version, but dont want to spend what they cost to have nav and all. It retains all functions, not sure on the factory USB in the center console, and then I can finally have a back up camera which would be great since I cant see anything lol. Just not sure if its worth ordering.

Trust me, it's not how you have it adjusted, when I looked at your photo I thought I saw snow in the bottom corner but then saw you were in Texas and thought, can't be snow, but saw it was a repost from someone else.

Any time I use my light bar in the snow it turns it into starwars movie scenes....

Cool stereo system, nice that it retains many features of the stock steering controls. I've had the Insane Jeep Audio Stereo for a few months and it is super awesome. I'm not sure what US pricing for it is though or if it's comparable to the Raxiom system. I don't know if I'll get bashed for a product I put in my jeep or if that one Is on the "not socially approved" list, but I love it.

I dont really care about nav, and think thats something I wouldnt like since I am used to the oem nav in my parents grands. I can get oem nav, which would deff make everything work like I want, and thats only 1000. Just hard to justify the purchase when its something I dont need or would use much other than having the backup camera.

Nav for me wasn't a big deal either, which was part of why I went with the IJA set up. The nav is the thing I use the least. The apps and android platform make it have near limitless abilities. WiFi, Bluetooth, gps, you can get sweet add ons too like digital TV, and cameras. Super cool if your going into that price range anyway.

That said I didn't have too many other options where I am that were as easy and plug and play as this one. I wanted simple install and problem free.

Good luck with choosing. I spent t the better part of a year contemplating what to go with.

When you buy a new top cuz your other one leaks.....need to mess with it this weekend to see if I can figure out why and where it leaks

So took the dry Audi to work today, which I'm working on a good name for

That sucks...my hard top has been leak free so far...even after the waterfall of rain we had today.

Make sure that rubber flap seal "thing" at the top, on the windshield side when you open up the door isn't folded over when you put the top on.

How do you like the Audi? Been looking for a used car to use for site visits for work.

This is with the new trektop actually, I did check it a little yesterday when I got home, and all the seals looked fine. I will flip the top back and double check everything and make sure the door surrounds are on right.

I love the audi, I am a euro car guy at heart tho so I cant ever stay away for long. The biggest plus right now is that it gets around 23 mpg even with a tune.

So I have been thinking about going hydro assist for a while now. I think I may finally bite the bullet and order up a system.

Side note: my stock steering has always felt weird after the lift and all, no chance of dealer even checking it out.

Now I have that used PSC delphi box with pitman arm that I got from my friend that was sitting around for a while at his shop. He planned to use it someday but deiced if and when he does, he will be going full hydro so I now have it. Do I see what happens and run that box, do I send it in for a rebuild? or keep it as a backup, and just get a whole new fresh system?

And go !

Send the box and have it checked over and have them rebuild it if needed

I may do that still, but the shipping and $75/hr labor + parts has me worried

I know I am just being cheap anymore with this stuff.

Finally ordered a part, well I guess you can call it a "part" for the jeep. Audi has been getting all the love recently but more in the way of maintence parts than anything. I get to do a timing belt job  and brakes this weekend....wish me luck.

I didnt think about it enough as I was too excited to get the 4 door, but it seemed like every Rubicon on the lot, without nav, didnt come with a sub. I know this may not be a problem for most guys, but it has annoyed me since I got the jeep. I enjoy listening to music and well the stock system sucks. My 2 door had the sub, which wasnt great, but sure helped out and once and a while depending on what I had in the back and also having the seat in and out, sometimes it sounded really good. After getting the Audi, I really started to hate the jeep stereo.

I just ordered the Kicker 11Hs8 powered subwoofer after reading a few people on here had it and a few other pics and stuff I found on google. Typically I would just use a seperate sub, box, amp, and headunit like I have sitting around in the garage from previous cars, but I like the oem unit since it has sirrius which I like, and no one would want to steal it. The sub box and amp I have is small....but I wont give up any space in the "trunk" to mount it. I think the kicker will fit my needs and make me happy as the jeep just has no low range at all right now.

I am planning to either install it on the rear pannel of the tuffy deck since there is a decent ammount of space between the rear seats and that part, or under the rear seats. Most guys seem to install it under the passenger seat which is not an option for me due to the arb twin is already under there and I dont plan on moving that yet. I will make sure to take lots of pics of spots this weekend that I end up trying.

Worked on the Audi, I know not jeep related but still. Previous owner said the brakes were done recently. Unless they meant the rear rotors and not pads which make no sense to me, maybe. This was the front pads vs new.

That's weird, I hadn't heard of Rubicons not coming with a sub. My '15 didn't come with nav but it did come with a sub. I can see where that would be annoying. Good luck with the install.

I've found that when dealing with used cars, recent needs to be translated. Kinda like dog years, y'know? So recent = 4 years ago in used car speak.

Nice. What engine do you have in that beast?

Just the 1.8t. It's tuned, no cat(shhh) and a full exhaust now so it's decent quick, but I miss the power that the Bmw had with the inline 6 but this is so much mor comfortable. Plans if I can keep it which I know won't happen is a bigger turbo.

I really wanted the v8 version, but if the timing chains were not done...it's 4K in parts alone. You need to pull the motor and trans to do the work so yeah that wasn't going to happen.

It's fully loaded other than nav and "leather" which had me confused at first. Like why not have a sub but oh well. I just hope the install is easy and sounds decent.

Yeah I should have known better but that's what happens when you buy a car In a snowstorm lol. The rear rotors looked decent and I know they don't wear as fast. Pads back there were basically shot as well. Front rotors had oem Audi numbers on them but I doubt they lasted 150k.

Might be surprised - I just put new pads on the front of my Durango (Mercedes M platform) at 160k miles. Still have OEM rears and I'm up to 172k now.

I was gonna say.......v8.........major labor. That's the 4.2, gotta pull the whole front clip to do anything on it. Sweet motor though. 1.8 won't be too bad for your on the timing. Actually, the 4 cyl Audi motors have a lot less issues than the 6 cyl so hopefully it will be trouble free for you.

You weren't missing anything. The alpine sub that came with my rubicon stock sucked anyways.
