Hinrichs 2.0

Can't remember what I did last time, but my one headlight is flickering again. If I tap it, it stops

Wipe any exposed terminals clean. Apply dielectric grease to the electric connections. Reconnect everything. Add some zip ties around the connections to "clamp" everything together.

...seems like I'm left doing this every couple months, would love to find a "set it and forget it" solution.

I couldn't get both of mine to stop flickering so I just replaced the factory connectors. It seemed like the TLs were the issue because I, too, tapped the light and it stopped but they haven't flickered since I replaced the oem connectors. Bizarre to say the least. Before that I did the zip tie and grease fix for both on the pmw harnesses but I guess you don't have them.

How do you like the twill top? I am debating about getting one with tax money. Just cant decide if I want to spend that kind of money on one or get the cheaper non twill version.

I am very happy with it, no flapping, seems quieter than a standard top, and being much darker black it just looks better to me. Install was a little harder as I feel it fits tighter, but now that it is relaxed, it fits perfectly. I have a feeling the rear window is also easier to use on this top vs the other style from when I had my 2 door, unless I am just imagining things.

I hard wired the harness so I really doubt that is the issue with loose connections, but I will deff try and pull the connector and clean it again. Just thought it was strange to happen on this jeep since its newer, never went through deeper water or anything like I did with my 2 door, and I used grease from the get go.

Did your high beams work fine, and it was only the low beam flicker? Thats how it is with mine.

Side news, if I actally go, I will have my jeep in a booth for a friend this weekend at some kind of truck show in Jersey. I think its the "Big east Offroad and Truck show"

Like I said, I'm debating about getting one with tax money. Just trying to decide if the extra chunk of change is worth it over the cheaper Trektop NX. Im sure it is, its just a harder hit on the pocket book. LOL. Ive got some big $$ purchases I'm throwing around. This is one of them.

It all around looks more finished to me, especially since the inside is black and has a nice texture. I will try and take some pics later today when I leave work. If I had a factory top, which I do want someday if I sell or trade the hard top, I plan to get the replacement twill for that as well.

Hard to show, but this is the texture

Nothing new going on, need to do an oil change soon. I did swap out the correct hardware for the rear deck, was going to make a liner for the top but was having a hard time remembering how to get the top off lol.

Thanks for the pics. Im really thinkin about ordering this top when we get tax money back.

I am very happy with it. While looking at the new quadratec catalog, I did find something that might make me just keep the hard top. Its basically a hoist that rolls behind the keep to pull the top. I mean I can usually find a friend to help out, but figure that this would be the best other than how much it costs. Also not even sure it would work with the jeep being lifted.

I seen that. I do like it. I dont like the price so much. I like the concept of it as I am thinking of the soft top and keeping my hardtop, I was going to get a crank system that attaches to the ceiling of the garage. Having it there most of the year would really be a pain in the butt, so it would be nice to get it on a cart system and push it back against the wall or something. It would be more out of the way that way.

My friend gave me a cart which is nice, and really helps to store it, I just dont have the garage height for a ceiling mounted hoist so I am still stuck doing it by hand.

That does look like a really useful hoist. The garage height is deffintly a factor, I'm confident I don't have the space for a ceiling mounted one either.

Once I move some spare wheels around and some other parts that were left over from selling my bmw, I am going to try and put the jeep in the garage. I know it will be tight but want to try and see if it will fit. I feel the 2 door sat about the same height so I should be good after I pull the antennae. I want to change the mount for that anyway and move it over to the side like Eddie runs on his rigs so I dont have to worry about it anymore.

Dumb question but why did you change your light bar to a Amber lens, is there a benefit?
Sorry I've always seen these and never knew why

Better visibility in snow/fog. Doesn't seem to have such a blinding reflection.

Edit: and usually they are just a clip on cover as well so they can be readily removed
