Hinrichs 2.0

In your case since you planned on ripping everything out anyway then no it's not worth it but for the people that only want to replace the front axle I think the Rubi is still worth the cost. If I knew anything about jeeps back when I got mine I prob would have gotten a Rubi.

Yep, I would agree with you there. I thought I read that he was considering a PR60 rear as well as the PR44....

Boy, If I knew two years ago what I know now (mostly due to WAL) I could have saved myself a bunch of dough.

I do want the PR44 front....the rear however is up in the air. Do I need 40s.....not at all. They would be overkill for anything around here, but after passing a jeep with them on my drive the other night, wow they look amazing. I know I dont need the PR60 rear either, but I really wouldnt have to worry about much after its all said and done tho.

I wish the Ultimate Dana 60 was better, cuz for the price is a great option for being full float....but not sure on the width of that one.

Hinrich and I text and talk fairly often so I tend to know what's in his head before he posts in here so that's my fault for not explaining the t case thing better. As he ended up mentioning he planned on staying on stock axles like he did on his 2 door. It wasn't until we talked at lunch the other day that the pr44 came up and selling the stock front.

The 60 rest is a spitball idea that came up but as we mentioned the full width is tricky due to out damn laws as you know lol

Aint that the truth? Like you, I'd have a hard time justifying 40's but damn, they look badass as hell!

I know I dont need the PR60 rear either, but I really wouldnt have to worry about much after its all said and done tho.

And honestly that's why I did mine. I don't want to worry about making it back from trips out west. If I didn't plan on Moab trips
it'd be hard to justify that purchase that as well.

I was just looking and totally forgot about the hybrid 44/60 front they offer as well, but im sure its full width so that option is out.

That's me, while of course I want the v8, pr60/80 and 40s I'm trying to justify how hardcore the jeep will be. I would like it extremely capable and want to drive it from Oklahoma to Colorado, Moab, etc. and back home without worrying about breakage as much. Now we have a house with a garage so I will have to watch my height and width to be able to fit both the jeep and the wife's car in the garage. And, while it will be capable, some of the wheeling I want to do will be a lot rougher on the body so I may build another vehicle also and leave the jeep on 37s max.

Have yet to make any decisions on a front axle chioce, still thinking about it however. I am thinking about selling my house to find something with more land and a bigger garage which I may have done. 5 acres and a 54x72 barn/shop could be in my future. Just need to see what kind of farm is down the road which could be an issue. Its a little further away than I would like (I am close to everything now), but the quiet and extra land will be worth it for sure. I still want to just move away from PA, but keeping my job that pays well is easier than trying to find a new career somewhere else.

I am starting to look into a new switch pannel however. No issues with the spod, it works well I just dont like that you are stuck with one mounting location for the most part. I really like the painless system, but not the 5 switch part and I dont understand how it supports 8 things. I looked at the switch pros again, and that is probably what I will end up going with. I dont think I need the 8 switches, but if I end up getting air lockers like I want, there goes 3 switches right away.

Was going to put in the long rear lines over the weekend, but it was cold and windy saturday and then it did end up being nice sunday but I was busy looking at a house with a giant garage/shop. Nice thing about the rear upper shock mount is there already is a hole to use, but the coilover strengthening plate is in that spot as well so I will have to pull that off and see what I can do to make it fit. Also thanks to Dchew....I have a set of rear spare bolt ons that need a lot of love due to rust and some corrosion it seems. I have a few ideas that I am thinking about using, and I will post up every step of what I do to get them good looking again. I will also be using this set as a rebuild lesson as well once I order seals and oil and get a nitro setup for myself.

nice I would like to see what you use an if it works lol. My king 2.0 shocks are a year old an need the rust cleaned off bad :icon_crazy:

That's a sweet pic. Great setting for the pic.

Its a cool building for sure, used to be a full train repair facility. I need to take a saturday with my one friend and get some good pics from all around and inside it again, its been a long time since I did that.

Going to order some of the stuff to rebuild the shocks soon, seeing as this spare set is in perfect shape mechanically, other than how they look currently, but it will be great for learning so then I can do my own light rebuilds at home, and do it for a few local guys as well like cozdude when that time comes for him. Nice part is all I really need to order tool wise is a the spanner wrench, and then order the nitrogen fill kit which I am still looking to see which tank setup I want. I do have to run to the local welding store however to refil my argon for my tig since I have been using that a lot recently, and want to get a better regulator as well since I dont like the one which came with my welder.

Been making stuff like this for a few people as xmas presents, but need to find them way cheaper but working with new ones sure is easier since they are already clean.

That's sweet stuff. That 2nd pic would make an awesome wine rack if the bottles fit.

Thats awesome. I cant wait to get out of this apartment into a house with a garage with plenty of room for toys

That will be next up to make, this is actually a christmas tree lol.

Make sure you find a large garage. When I originally bought my house and had all lowered cars it worked well and was the perfect size. Now with the jeep and more tools, I have basically no room. The bmw takes up one side all winter typically and the other side turned into my fab shop.

Yess. Large garages are hard to find in NJ bc of my budget. But land is available and im looking to do something like this without the loft....

Not with my girlfriend and a baby on the way lol. She'd murder me lmao

Girlfriend? Baby on the way? Good luck with the garage, lol.

Seriously though, make sure you still have time for yourself along with the balance of the family time. Life will be changing for you very soon. We're going through something similar with kids and trying to find more space for each of our hobbies. I would love a garage like the one in your photo.

What surprises me about my house, is the previous owners had 4 girls, did add my garage onto the house in the back but did it with a very low ceiling, but never got a shed which literally everyone else in my neighborhood has. If I can get a big enough shed for the extra things like lawn mower and yard tools. I would have the extra room I need. Right now I keep a lot outside covered, but its getting harder to do that. This year I think I am going to drain the gas out of everything I can and keep it in my basement.
