That's an interesting idea...Being that you likely ran the big fused wires to the battery, just tap into one of those and reinsulate it. You can tap into it right near the compressor and be done with it quickly.

If it were a fuse, how would jump starting it have solved the issue though?Sounds like a fuse. Doug mentioned that he uses his without the engine just fine.

Nope, didn't have the keys in the ignition while working. Yes, both battery terminals tight. Yes, starts normally now. After we got it started the first time, Kate drive it to get groceries. No problem starting when she came back out of store.Any chance while working on the Jeep, you've had the lights on too long? Both battery terminals tight? Does it start normally now several times?

Yep. As far as I know. Bought the Jeep at 25k miles, now at 51k miles.Strange indeed. Battery the original one?

I finished the wiring on the ARB Compressor, just need to clean it up and then I'll post pics. After installed, the battery died. A few times. Took it to Autozone for testing. Needs to be replaced. It's the original battery so probably about time. Glad it's dying in town and not on the mountain.
Went with the Odyssey Extreme 34r-pc1500t battery. Found it on apex battery for $239 out the door. Called up Quadratec and in less than a 60 second conversation the guy had me price matched, paid, and done. That is how you do customer service.Battery arrives early next week.
Yeah, agreed on pricey. Hoping this sets me up for the future and never leaves me stranded. Electrical load is only increasing on the Jeep so didn't want to go cheap.Pricey as hell but the Odyssey is really the best out there in terms of batteries.

I don't see me needing a dual battery setup any time soon. We'll see. If I do, the Odyssey can be repurposed as a trail welder or something.Do you or are you planning on doing a dual battery setup?

Tonight I did something I've never done before: put air in my own tires.
It was amazing.
Dealing with the whole battery situation delayed me a day or so but now that a new one is ordered, I cleaned up all the wiring tonight and bolted the seat back down. Runs like a champ. Nearly took a window out taking off the chuck when I didn't realize it was pressurized. Need to buy a few more attachments for it but so excited to not have to plan trips around towns to air up in. I'll post pics tomorrow once it's light outside.
