Anyway to visually know or just replace it and see what happens?
You can check to see if it is operating correctly with a pot of water & a candy thermometer. See what temp it opens & check against what cap is rated at.

Interesting idea. Gonna keep it simple in hopes of actually finishing a project in the same day I start it. If the compressor starts overheating, I may come back and drill a bunch of 1/2" holes in it. Fans point out to the door so hoping it pulls enough in that way.You should dimple die the shit out of that! Give it a little air flow and it would look cool
