I'm willing to bet the cause of the Palisades fire was arson. The conspiracy theorist in me feels they may have been a part of the LAFD illustrating the point to the top elected officials about how their dept was financially fucked and illprepared. Just saying. Could be true

Sad, definitely sad.

There are multiple examples of progressive elected officials in blue cities diverting resources from security and preparedness to feel good and wealth redistribution schemes. Normally the poor judgment does not catch up with them but once in a while it does as in this case. When it does the politicians never take responsibility for their actions.

Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way. He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a smelt, by giving it less water (it didn’t work!), but didn’t care about the people of California. Now the ultimate price is being paid. I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA! He is the blame for this. On top of it all, no water for fire hydrants, not firefighting planes. A true disaster!

That is a great idea! Vegetation means potential fire. No more vegetation means no more fire.

No problem with fire then anyway given that without vegetation everything will be washed away.

I did read somewhere the Palisades fire was started by fireworks. But I’ve not seen any official reports. I have seen some wild ass conspiracy theories that actually tie it in with the Lahaina fires.

Various ideas and accusations have been floated, but I think right now they are concentrating more on getting the fires controlled and will investigate likely causes later.

The most equitable and affirming action is to just put the fires out and not worry what actually went wrong. We definitely do not want to hold anyone accountable as accountability hurts and is not spiritually nourishing. This way everyone can feel good about themselves and they all get trophies.
