What worries me about this statement is the "software business" part, automakers have been trying for years to say they own the vehicle, and the end user is merely leasing it since it's their "software" that operated in the vehicle and therefore ALL repairs should and can only be done at the dealership, no DIY, No add-ons without their approval

Took a ride in a Tesla model 3 yesterday.
I have to say they are pretty cool inside. These damn things accelerate like nobody’s business and this was the entry level one. I’m not sure I’d ever have one though - my range would probably be like 50 miles in one of these - I be driving it like a juvenile delinquent

They are awesome and I love the technology behind the electric crap. But don’t push it on me and tell me it’s good for the environment.

my nephew bought a 2020 Tesla S, I agree on the acceleration but without any other sound after it was done, for me it was a bland experience.
Sure, we drove around, he accelerated like a jack rabbit, and it would come to a halt quick but otherwise boring.
The technology was pretty cool but I wouldn't buy one.
He also learned the hard way why they don't recommend the performance tires that came with it be used during winter, the rubber plasticizes and he blew a tire going over a chuckhole (he said it wasn't even a deep one); cost to fix it was $500.
He bought winter tires.
