Do Yourself a Favor - Regear Your 2012-Up JK!!

No need to be sorry. I actually would like to meet the socal wayalifer's.

Not sure you're catching my drift. What I'm saying is there's no need to defend those whom you feel are being "attacked," specifically of you don't belong to the group which you perceive to be the target of the attack. In any case, I do hope you make it to a S&G have a brew and put some faces and personalities to screen names.

I have been known to use the word sick and bro in a sentence once or twice in my life...

I've been thinking of regearing: I have a '12 with 3.73 with 35's. I will go to 37's when these wear out. I have the AEV Procal and after using it, the 35's are livable but not ideal.

So I'll assume 5.13 is what I should go with for 37's, but will that be too much for 35's? I could wait until after I get the 37's, but 3.73 would probably be pretty bad. So was hoping to do the gears first, then 37's.

If you're getting 37's for sure, I would definitely do it. On the highway, your RPM's will be a bit high but, not so bad that you couldn't deal with it for a while. Around town, you'll be fine.

You guys are killing me I really need to get stationed back on the Mainland. the lowest li have seen a regear here they wanted $600 for each axle. So 1200 for a install so rite around 2K to do a regear I need it bad I have a 2012 3:21 in it now and 35's. Thats not bad on the 2012's but there are a lot of hills in Hawaii and very few flat roads.

Ok cool. It is my daily driver, but I only drive about 11K per year since I have a short commute. Plus I can take streets to work if it sucks on the freeway.

Yeah, you'll be fine even on the highway especially if you can keep your speeds down to about 60-65 MPH.

Yeah, pretty expensive. My local shop charges $1400, but I'm not too far from Evo if they won't give me a break on the price. $2K would really suck. I'd try to see if they'll do it for around $1500 or find another shop.

I have no words.... Sorry. Perhaps you can make it out to a S&G and you'll understand our humor.

Don't mention your a firefighter around these guys either...;) Most are cops, retired cops or former cops and it can become an all out sh*t slinging fest. But at the end of the night it was worth it..haha. Its been too long since I've been out to one and need to come hang out. Even if it does take me an hour and 20 mins to get down there. Maybe one of these days I can get the high desert suds and grub some attention..haha.

You fight fires? Thank you for keeping us safe. Those cops don't do anything except bother people, sit on their ass, eat donuts and beat people for NO REASON.:yup:

BTW hope to see you at the next SnG Jesse.

I'm there for sure its been too long. Who needs food trucks I'll bring a couple dozen Krispy Kreme's...haha

Alright, regearing newb here...would it be wise to get 4.88s front and rear (D30 front/D44 rear) if I only plan on 35s? I was thinking I'd save myself some money and gusset both axles and regear rather than spend thousands on a new D44 front axle. If this is a good idea...what brand should I go with for gears? I'm piecing together my future 3.5-4" lift so I'm trying to figure out what gears I'll need now. Thanks, y'all.

Okay now that you guys all kissed and made up, I have a serious question. Where do you guys find that gear conversion table/calculator?
