CONCRETE ARROW QUEST : Search for Transcontinental Airway Beacons

This is what I love about this forum. History, exploration, Jeeps, challenges, straight talk, fun and good friends; oh, and sarcasm too.

After finding a few of these arrows and beacons, I still have more to find in Wyoming. I got this movie to see a little more in depth on how they used to work. I'll post back after I watch it.

You have to share, where did you find that?

Think I might have found it on YouTube, along a few other related videos for the aviation buffs on here.

Took a drive to vedawoo mountains and found this one on pilot hill road. Great view also. Gotta love Wyoming!

Well after following this thread for a couple years I was finally able to get out and find a few of my own. I'm not much of a storyteller and my photographic skills aren't anywhere in the same realm as Eddie or Cindy but here is what I was able to track down today. One tower without the concrete arrows and two concrete arrows without the towers. No residuals like fuses or colored glass. But the orange paint is in great shape. Thanks for this thread Eddie it's an awesome ongoing adventure :)

SWEET!! Great find and thank you for sharing what you found here. Were these in Colorado or in another state like Wyoming?
